Yes, discussing expectations on the ride to the store is awesome! That way it’s fresh in their minds! Also giving opportunities to redeem themselves if they slip up is also awesome! A short outing in a store with a list is a great practice opportunity! Way to go Jamie, you do a wonderful job parenting 🏆♥️ Much love from my heart to yours ♥️

Jamie, the kiddos did such a good job going grocery shopping. They are really developing their manners. It definitely is a process, right?! But it takes a lot of energy! Way to be amazing!

It's good that you let the little kids learn by doing. You can't learn how to shop and be nice in a store if you never get to go to one. :-) When you have those times where someone is out of sorts, just take a deep breath, remind yourself 'This too shall pass' and it WILL. Just as you showed with Lincoln. Being six isn't easy when you're learning how to take turns, wait for what you want and cooperate with others. All important life skills that in a year, they'll all have down. It won't be long before they're telling you what they will find for you or what you need to buy to make some dish! LOL

They are so well behaved. You are brave shopping with 5 kiddos. I’m afraid I’d lose one if they went off in different directions. It looks like they are very good listeners.

Jamie, taking 5 littles shopping is hard. But it's good for them to learn lessons about waiting, and sometimes the answer is no. Your pies sound so good. Do you freeze them till Christmas? I COOK in volume, and freeze them, but not cakes or pies.. Thanks for the smiles. Long island Kathy

I hope they hurry up and get an Aldi in your area and in Vegas. You’ll love shopping there and their organic foods are a lot less than any other stores. What you spend in a week at others stores you’ll be able to buy a month’s worth of food at Aldi. You’ll need a quarter for the shopping carts and bring your own bags because otherwise you’ll have to buy them at Aldi. I have one of those food sealing machines and a freezer in my garage so I can do meal prepping for my meats. They also have family packs of meat, which I normally buy 3 of their wings, breasts and thighs, steaks, seafoods pork, you name it they usually have it, but their Aldi brands are just as good, if not the same as brand names. $300 usually gets me through just about 2 months, I keep my potatoes in the bottom crisper bin in my fridge so they’ll last at least 2 months that way. Just pray that those Aldi stores start popping up near you soon. You’ll thank me for that advice for feeding a family your size. My son lives in Vegas so he’s been anxiously awaiting for one to come to his area there. I told him once he has an opening date for one, that I would make him a quarter holder for his keychain. The quarter is for the cart. Once you are done shopping and you return the cart and it gives you back your quarter. That’s how Aldi cuts their cost for hiring a cart person Once I can get my life more organized I’m going to design quarter holder keychains to sell. 🧀🍞🥓🥩🥒🥕🥑🥥🍅🍓🍊🍎🍏🍉🫐🍑🍓🍒🍍🍋
