Grocery Store Balloon Challenge

For this video, I'm trying out grocery store balloons as penance for being MIA from KZbin.

I got into making balloon animals for my church at the beginning of this year. The kids LOVE them! I've watched countless tutorial videos and you by far are the BEST at teaching!! I had to use Wall Mart brand for the longest time. I just started getting them online and it feels weird having such thick balloons, add to that they're an inch longer than I'm used to. But they come out better proportionally!

OMG I started out using those cheaper store balloons and frig I was always so nervous waiting for them to pop. I found your channel and tried Qualatex balloons I am still amazed at how good they are for sculpting. this Video really takes me back. Keep Cheers :)

For christmas my mom got me a pack of balloons from target. It came with a pump and a book. Everytime I try to pump up the included balloons The pump comes in two so I had to hot glue it. After that it was pretty aight definitely works better than the basketball pump I was using before.

I've been using balloon animals for about 5 years and I started with a 3 so that means I'm 8 years old the first one I ever knew how to do was the balloon animal dog

The grocery store ones are rotten. But the ones from Walmart are pretty decent. The ones from the party section, not the ones that come with a kit in the toy section.

I used Kroger balloons to practice with before getting Qualatex. Also Party City and Walmart balloons. That's when I couldn't find Qualatex. They last about the same length of time, from my experience. THOSE TINY PUMPS DO SUCK FOR ANYTHING LARGER, THOUGH!

Can you try out Party City Balloons those are the ones I use. And you are lucky to find a purple balloon because the balloon packs that I buy from Party City don't have any.

Glad to see you back. I think Mondays are perfect for tutorials. I have a gig every Monday night, and it would be nice to potentially learn a new balloon right before I go down. How about some more simple Halloween balloons? I have a ton of Halloween balloons, but they're not always as quick as I need them to be. Thanks.

You said to ask if there was something we wanted to learn, thank you :-) I use Qualatex 260q balloons and I can't figure out how you manage to break them off. Perhaps I'm just not strong enough, I can't blow them up with my mouth either though I can play the didgeridoo so I don't think it's an issue with my lungs. I saw in some videos you make a tiney ball and squeeze it between your fingers, like snapping your fingers, but it just doesn't pop for me. As for breaking off the unwanted section... All I've managed to do is tear a hole in it but even after it's deflated I can't break it off. What's the secret?

Can you try making complex patterns with party store balloons (the ones that come in a bag of 144)? I was given some of them to use once for an event, and I remember them being super powdery and only working for simpler patterns. I think they'll be in between these balloons and normal balloons in quality. Also, welcome back!

I usually get a bunch of the cheap pumps and run lite lessons for the early trick or treaters while it's slow. Those store balloons are terrible! XD Got some a while back on a whim (CVS) and mine were sticky. They actually felt tacky and left streaks of color on my hands. I'm sticking to the good stuff from now on. lol!

Do you have any good detailed tutorials on poodle tails and the balls you can put inside other balloons that address common problems with making them? Snapping off the ends is another thing that has eluded me, but that's less important because I can usually just pull it apart; but sometimes I don't have enough end left to do that.
