Malcolm Wolfe I’d suggest using a boss ds-1 into a clean amp and having your guitar on the neck pickup with the tone up about halfway

Well i intially thought that is what the term means; as various arrogant characters in film have used it in film/tv although cannot pinpoint any scene at this moment. interesting to see it's origin from boston were people don't act tough just respectful, from what i hear my friend say
