I totally agree with you both. What drew me into The Big Bang Theory were the science and nerd references that I got and I thought it was amazing as I hadn't seen a show like it. Like you say the show doesn't laugh at nerds but laughs with, which is awesome. Also the characters in the show covers such a wide range of different people. For example I feel like I identify with Amy Farrah Fowler, who was picked on at school and didn't have many friends growing up. But she is now such a strong character despite this and it gives me the inspiration to be stronger and who I want to be in life.

I completely agree with this. The Big Bang Theory introduce me to a lot of things I had been curious about. But it also made me realize how much I love that world. Being fantatics of shows, movies, books, comics and etc. We can all relate in one way with those characters and I love that!

I have never thought of Wil Wheaton as a nerd. I actually think he’s pretty cool. He is also a good actor and adds a lot to the show. But, then again, that entire cast is really outstanding! Love that show!!

I couldn't agree more. Nerd kids are not gonna turn into cool kids because of The Big Bang Theory, but they will, in true, find that they are not alone. Different from what happens with Han Solo and Luke Skywalker, in TBBT I do not necessarily need to identify myself with Penny or with Amy, in their totally opposite sides. Because, look: I can be Bernadette! This is one of the most awesome things about the show. Nerds are not labeled and are not reason FOR joke. But, yes, they have the capacity to MAKE jokes, like everybody else. In this case, except for Mayim and Wil, our real nerds are in the writer's room, making the best jokes ever.

Nerds think each other are cool. Non-nerds, still think we are nerds. Penny is the odd one because she's not a nerd but she still likes her nerds friends. Wow! Wheaton went over those comic heroes like a periodic table of some sort.

There are any people who say 'the Big Bang Theory' just takes the piss out of nerds and ridicules them - it's terrible. And these people identify themselves as geeks and nerds. I always wonder whether they are at peace with being a nerd or are still grappling with the fact that they aren't civilians like other people...or they simply don't don't understand what 'being a geek/nerd' is.

I personally think that The Big Bang Theory is great, the script and the acting are great, but what I hate the most about it is the live laughing out loud audience! So many of the scenes - especially Sheldon's - may look funny but actually they are not funny to him; And it wouldn't be funny to a person feeling the same or going through such situations, finding people laughing out loud at them!

Yeah hating the Tattoo Wil. So passé now. Unblemished skin is the best. Of course you could be hiding some hideous mole for all I know, but generally... tattoos... they've been done. Pristine skin is so much cooler! Love the show though you guys. It keeps laughing and sane!
