Groningen - Dutch Destroyer | World of Warships

The Groningen is a Premium Tier 9 Dutch Destroyer. It has 4x 120mm guns. This ship is identical in every stat to Friesland which is a Premium Tier 9 Pan-European (Dutch) Destroyer. This video shows 1 game, played on Shards, where I showcase myself with my thought process on what happens in the match, and give insight on what I think of the ship.

It is my main ship and probably besides Kita the most reliable and consistent gunboat, you will have a lot of fun playing it.

Groningen has amazing AA, would've kept it on in the smoke since there's no penalty (ie: revealing your position)

I'd much rather avoid the ire of a lucky drop in smoke; sometimes that happens if I leave my AA on, even in something like Groningen.

Having huge problems wrapping my mind around playing a DD without torps. I`m Dutch myself but my bias is not strong enough to enjoy it, well played though mate.

Honestly it's rather comfortable- you just need to remember that you don't have the insane Alpha of torps if someone rushes you, and most everyone knows Fries and Gron have none. You need to play the long game and think like that. You bully other DDs out of caps and kite away from BBs and Cruisers. Carriers are usually too scared to get near you

How is it a thing, that it is a legit and effective strategy to be a complete and utter wimp, get a radar cruiser, park behind an island near a cap and just press the button every time it goes on cooldown. Really, they should fix radar to not work through islands/rocks and force these unskilled wimps to learn how to play combat.

The Dutch voice acting is too corny at times, I doubt the Navy would really say some of these things. I got used to it though :) The worst one is when you kill something he says: SENT TO THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN!!!! with a bit of veracity to his voice hahaha, corny
