Many thanks to both of you for another very interesting interview. I can confirm the love that each Host Family has for their guests. We were honored to be a host family twice, once in '17-'18 Rose Parade, then in '19 - '20 for the Honor Band. With the Honor Band we requsted Tachibana students and were blessed to have two very special alumni stay with us, one being a flute player most of us know about, and her best friend that plays Trombone. Both times when we had to say "good bye" it was like loosing family members and many tears where shed, but even now we stay in contact with all 5 of them. It's so nice to hear about how and why each peson chose Tachibana, and the rewards and struggles each had. GREAT interview....don't stop. Arigatou Mita-chan and Tama-chan, be well and stay safe.

Hello Paul. In my mind you are the origin of the great "behind the scenes" journey thanks to your incredible stories and sharing elsewhere. I often think of you when I watch Yuina's new venture doing these great interviews, as she is, in a way, continuing where you left off, even though it's not a collaboration. I can imagine how even more meaningful these interviews are to you as you've been so blessed to be a host and have a deeper behind the scenes perspective. I am grateful for your sharing and also so very happy and grateful that Yuina Mita-san has come up with the fantastic idea of doing these interviews. It is so meaningful and special to me. Take care and will write to you by other means soon.

Amazing journey / story and interview. I am glad that TAMA-CHAN stuck with this and didn't quit the band. Also she decided to join GrooMe! I hope that TAMA-CHAN'S experience in America was a good one and looking forward for more interviews with former members of Tachibana.

Thank you for these interviews and for the subtitles! It is really interesting to know what's happening behind the scenes. They really are amazing being able to balance studies, performances and numerous practices not only for the instrument, but also the choreography and positioning. I would never be able to do that as a student. They put so much effort.

Another great interview from Yuina. More good insight from another former member. I always wondered why we didn't see too much of this young lady after the Rose Parade. Didn't see much of her after that. Now we know. Advanced academic courses. Basically college courses. Kept her from participating with the band. That's too bad. Congratulations to her on her awesome accomplishment.

Yuina-san, thank you for another great and interesting interview, you are doing us Tachibana fans a great service. In fact, you are doing us international fans an even greater service by adding the subtitled translation. I pray that you continue to follow the path you have taken, with respect to the interviews, and that you find them to be a great experience, and as interesting, enjoyable, and encouraging as we do. Thank you for your dedication and your preparation, and for your hard work in editing, translating, and typing out the translation in English.
So...we will have event on April 3rd. I am looking forward. Thank you YuinaChan for the interview TamaChan, good to hear experiences from former members. I hope you do more with other members.

Tamachan thank you so much for sharing some of your story with us. You were in a special situation because of the E class. The extra school work you had to do and still doing the wind band is really incredible. You are a very strong person. Congratulations!! Yuina-san!!!! Another great interview. Always.... Thank you so very much for the wonderful idea you have to make these interviews.... all are so very special!!!!!!!!! Tachibana Tension!! Aga-te-kita! Hai-Hai-Hai-Hai-Hai-Hai Haaaaaaaaaaaaaai!!!!!!!
"Tama-chan because I like fried egg" that was simple and easy 🤭 love that, she seemed like a cute and humble girl, wonderful that she could do the club activities while in the E course, on the other hand, how great to know that they were both with the same host family! 😲💕 I hope they see the video ☺️ Many thanks to both Tama-chan Mita-san, excellent interview as always 👍✨
Good job Yuina!!! congratulations to you and Tama-chan, regards from south america

Upon watching the band on TV whilst at junior school, Tamachan says she felt she was seeing “amazing people, like above the clouds”. She believed she couldn’t do it; then she did! We too are amazed by what you, and the juniors you trained, have achieved. You did your best, made magic, your wishes bloomed and now, may you once again reach the stars with your "Groo Me!" friends. A question remains: did you and Yuina-san eat from the same cake?

Thank you for the interview!! The demanding dancing and instrument playing need so much time to be perfected. I always think that they are students and need to study also!! Where does the time come from?. Even if 48 hours a day, it is still not enough time for them to practice and study. My conclusion is: All the students in Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School Band are supergirl and superboy!!! Moreover, I guess a huge number of clarinet players is one of the special things in Wind ensemble. I play trombone and I am not that lucky. haha~~

Amazing interview, Yuina. Your questions are very interesting. It's great to know the "before, during and after" experiences of each member in KT. I hope more KT members will join Groo me so we can hear their stories as well. Keep up the good work, Yuina. Arigato gozaimashita Tama-chan!

Hi, thank you Mita-san and Tamachan, for the interview and upload. d:)
Well, malcolomone1, hopefully things won't get too carried away; however, my understanding is that the girls and guys sprinkled in, are very humble. Meaning they may be just learning how really popular, wonderful, and truly talented they really are. When this happens to some, they are the ones that take it too far, I don't believe these kids will let it go to their heads per say. I've been able to read the translations in the numerous videos I've watched, they're not like kids of other other countries, like the West. I would love and hope that Yuina / GrooMe continues sharing these great insightful interviews with the world. I'm a real fan, never thought I would be for anyone or anything, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. It would be nice to add a pic of the interviewee in uniform playing said instrument so we can better identify who they are in formation, thanks again for sharing.

Another fascinating interview yuina. Great insight into another Orange Devil’s view of being in the band. I liked the bit on the host families in that the band students it seems strangely don’t really know the other instruments, but just the one they play with, or am I getting it wrong! The future is bright the future is Groo-me 🍊

Same host family? And you did not meet? Wow, it shows how dedicated you are and you must have been so focused on the music there was no time to socialize with others from the band. Thanks for another enjoyable interview! I really like this project. April 3 will be here soon! :)

本当に同感です。 ローズの経験者や、全国大会経験者が居ないですから、大変だと思います。個人的には、 sing sing singやFIRE ball等、伝統の曲は残して欲しいですけどね。
you must remember that KTSHS BAND is part of a school, now the band is or has become very well known and not only in japan ,one thing a school does not really want is it becoming a attraction for people coming to see the home of the band ,or the present band members ,it could become like what happens to a big celebrity ,crowds gathering ,could become a tourist attraction ,,something no school really wants to happen ,, If the family used the same cake it would be very mouldy lol, they just bake the same sort of cake each time .if you or i had a band member staying at your house ,you would have people around to see and meet that person ,and of course you have a small party ,its these things like staying with a family ,that turns into a lifetime friendship, and many meetings because i would invite them to come and stay occasionally ,and you might get to go to them in japan,. It is very nice to see past members been interviewed ,perhaps there real name added as well, perhaps a film clip of them in the band ,always look forward to seeing past members ,and waiting to see the school band itself playing again
My face recognition is rather bad, can't spot Tama-Chan in the performance. Perhaps she had a pony-tail then? Thank you Miss Yuina for inviting ex-Tachibana for the interview and Tama-Chan for sharing. All the best!!
this parade will be remembered 2018 forever as the best and special parade ,it is described as epic and i hope they realize it now .,and forever to be proud of ...

Wow! Tamachan is soooo cute! Is she an Idol?!!? 😀❤️
@Dodger01033 жыл бұрын
Mate they are all idols now, but they don’t know it! These students have a world wide fan base following and yet they take it all in their stride. Whilst playing in the band, I think teachers, family and friends did an incredible job of making sure their life was kept as normal, if that was really possible, but it does seem it was! It seems with school work and band practice in playing and dancing, they was no time to react to any followers. But I could be wrong🤔 and often are😉😂

@@Dodger0103 Hah! You’re not wrong there. I keep thinking that if anyone at the school had an ounce of commercial sense they could make millions with merchandise and doing live streams etc
@Dodger01033 жыл бұрын
@@ian757 Jack, that’s exactly what they don’t want. The band is to participate in after school club activities and assist them in to adult live,(well that’s my take on it!). A lot of the old students have probably vanished into careers, marriage and families, but hold I am sure great memories of the fun they had , even in the tough times. But the interviews Yuina-san is doing, are a great and helpful and maybe a few boy members would be interesting, especially with all those female members 😂 The future is bright the future is Orange 🍊
@ian7573 жыл бұрын
@@Dodger0103 I’ve already asked Yuina to interview a boy member as that would be an interesting take on being in the band. I’m suggesting they do some marketing and merchandising because the band is often short of money. Sometimes, they’re unable to make the trip to Hawaii that they have done historically.

@Roger Bailey yuina is interviewing only groome members! and i think in "this" groome! There are no male members, so ...
If I compare the interview questions and manner and technique of Yuina with that of Professional journalists from magazines and TV,interviewing celebrities-----Yuina is waaaay BETTER !---Her questions are intelligent, well thought out, inquiring without being nosy----they made the interview flow. Will Yuina next add journalism to her many amazing talents ????????????????? ---Lovely touch about the cake !

Very few members are heard of / from after their Tachibana life - rather abruptly - stops. In the West, most of them would jump at the chance to be (world) famous, have their own channels online & stuff, but most Japanese don't, and become typical adults soon after the magic ends. Those who do continue, keep playing the old tunes in much smaller settings, and the moves and dancing ends... Won't ever there ever be a global sensation emerging out of Tachibana?
