I agree. My wife took our Shiba to a doggie wash station here where we live, and our pupper didn't like the water, but she really disliked the dryer and she had a meltdown when my wife tried to dryer her. People thought my wife was abusing our our pup because of that insanely loud high pitch scream that Shibas do! Needless to say, we never took her there again.

My shiba Inu came from a Amish family that left it outside in a cage with his siblings and mom for most of its 8 week life. He didn’t know how to react to the toys we got him, but after patience and lots of playtime outside. He is the best decision I have ever made.

Where did you get them if you don't mind me asking? :) I really want one but am having a hard time.
@Texas-Chris2 жыл бұрын
@@jonathanvandagriff7515 It’s hard to find a reputable breeder. My older one came from a couple who where breeding to learn more about the Shiba, she does not have any papers, but she is pure blood and she is a wonderful Shiba. My younger one came from Anderson Shibas in Oklahoma. We were on a wait list for a long time, and she is a great Shiba also, but we paid a premium to get a pup that can be a bit silly. I love them both, and if I’m able I’d love another one, my daughter wants a cream one. If you look, you can find them, just be willing to travel.

@@Texas-Chris The price is definitely bumming me out too 😅 I've known about the Shiba Inu nreed a for a very long time before they ever got popular due to these dumb meme coins. They've always been no more than $1000 and now they're easily $4,000 everywhere I look. Just sucks because I've wanted one for so long and I'm finally able to get one and only now they're crazy popular lol. And a lot of people getting them don't know what they're getting into but the Shiba Inu is literally the perfect breed for me. It'll probably take me 6 months to a year to save up that kind of money but will probably have to wait that long anyways so I'll give it a go! you can find them for $600-$1200 on puppy listing sites but from what I'm seeing it's not a good idea to go that route no matter how tempting it may be. So I'll wait, hopefully they go down in price maybe 😅.

@@jonathanvandagriff7515 definitely do not go to puppy sites. Best would be good dog sites. But still you have risk of running into someone who might not know what they are doing. They are expensive but the way I saw it was i would rather pay that amount for a healthy shiba than a sickly shiba and still pay that much for health bills. Look for a puppy with a full face. I nearly did give into someone who I was so desperate I almost just got a backyard shiba because i had wanted one for 5 years. but pulled away the last moment. Much to the dismay of the person lol. But I kept looking and found someone who was 2 states down and selling my baby for 3k and I hopped on it. She has been great. And with the amount of stress and headaches she does give me. She also has filled my life with laughs and a lot of happy kisses. So definitely do wait. It's worth it

Unless this was intentionally done for the sake of recording a video a Shiba owner should brush him/her every night. This simple task keeps the excessive shedding at bay and makes life easier for both the owner and the dog. We brush our shiba every single night before or after brushing his teeth. He just loves the attention. We do the same before and after his bath as well. It reduces the number of times the house gets vacuumed.

Shiba inu's are like huskies and have double coats. They will blow these coats out when it gets hotter and it will shed a lot...but. this only happens 2 times a year so it's not that big of a deal.

That Furmiator worked wonders😱 My Shiba is fairly calm for grooming even though he hates it too.. he is not much of a barker so he doesn't even make a sound... I try to make it quick for him especially during baths since I know he gets scare of water. I wish he enjoyed it more 🤣 I took him too the beach the moment his paws got wet he was like yaaah Nope and backed away from the water😅

Surprised so many are saying their Shiba’s are drama queens. Mine will kinda squirm and be uncomfortable with his front paws touched. But mine isn’t nearly as bad. He might do a “help I’m being water boarded” in the bath. But he’s not one to freak out.

Dogs don't act out around their owners they are more scared without them and as such they are more likely to freeze and be compliant. Totally different and the main reason I'll do my damnedst to do all grooming myself. Plus I want honesty and it seems like most groomers lie.
@andreil13132 жыл бұрын
But also, every dog can be trained 😅 It’s not a “all Shibas are like this”. Only Shibas that were not introduced to blow driers etc.. in the first weeks of their life are scared of it. And there’s always a good and a bad way to introduce them.

That's not always true. My dog loves people and pretty sure he gets tired of being around me all the time and loves being around other people.
