Having an emotional reaction to such crimes is natural and absolutely the correct response. Criminality cannot and should not be tolerated, and criminals should be made to bear the harshest consequences. That being said, it is awfully unfair to vilify an entire population because of the actions of a few. Criminals are criminals regardless of colour and nationality and must be dealt with firmly. If you do not like a certain nationality (you are entitled to your bigoted ways, no problem) but saying that all of them are rapists is not truthful, fair, or helpful. There are about 1.5 million Pakistanis in the UK. Even If there were 1000 gang members (absolutely disgusting abhorrent individuals, deserve harshest of the harshest punishment), it does not mean the other 99.96% are bad people. I am advocating for those other innocent 99.96%. Do you think it’s fair that the other 99.96% bear the weight of these criminals? Another more important point (Religion and Nationality are two different things). Islam is a religion. In Islam adultery is absolutely forbidden even between two consenting adults (between unmarried couples), let alone rape. In Islam, intimate relationships are only allowed within the sanctity of marriage. (In Islam Adultery and rape both carry incredibly harsh punishments). Being born in a Muslim household or claiming to be Muslim does not automatically make someone a Muslim. Following the guidelines of the religion makes them a Muslim. So, these criminals might have been born in Muslim families, but they are not Muslims. If they were, they could never do such a thing. Political elites understand how to extrapolate the actions of the few to the other innocent majority who most often have no say, no influence and no power on the actions of others. Can’t you see how it plays out. Bundling one idea with the other, combining truth with false hood. e.g. Pakistani men (.01%) groomed women (truth) and then vague impression that All Pakistani (99.9%) men are rapists (falsehood) are bundled together and then shouting political narratives at those innocent 99.9% Pakistani men, who had nothing to do with the actions of the (.01% criminal vile disgusting individuals). In my humble opinion and i am not an expert but the law should have a deterrent value , the punishment by the court and state should be so severe for such crimes that no one in their wildest dream should even think of committing such crimes. If you want to bring nationality, religion and race politics into this, well be my guest, I do not think that any civil or decent discussion can be done with you, political elites will keep benefitting by stoking your hatred and the problems for the common people will remain as they are.

If the establishment fears the racism label then that is not the fault of the minority group but the establishment itself. Isn't racially and/or religiously aggravated assault, including rape, supposed to be particularly heinous, a particular hate crime?
