I totally agree they do not have a mean bone in their bodies. They love children and other pets . My golden Buddy has a squirrel as his sister and knows how to keep her in control and they are so cute together. Gigi the squirrel loves him and respects him as he does her too. Golden retrievers are extremely smart and easy to train. Buddy is so loyal to me and has shown me nothing but unconditional love and I am so thankful he is in my life and we are at 9 years and counting . He is absolutely the love of my life!!

I have been grooming my dog since last year due to the lockdown and kept doing it w/o any actual idea of how it’s done, going simply off of what looked okay but now I’m so glad to have found this video since not only did it give me a better idea of how it’s done (with rather simple tools) but also bc this dog too has a wavy coat like mine and this seems like exactly how I will be grooming him next time :))

The whole time I was watching this I was thinking “is this my dog!?” Not only is does he also have a wavy coat but he’s also a similar color and he does the same thing with his head when I’m grooming him. 😂 Love the video! I’m trying to learn how to trim his chest and feathers.

He's obviously a white golden retriever. When my mum and I wash my goldies they turn gold because of the gold hairs on them. They aren't fully white they still have some gold on them.

Alex Jov I breed and show Goldens and I have a male golden who is this color. He is registered with the AKC as Light Golden. Technically, there is no such thing as White or “English Cream”. There are three different types of Goldens-English, Canadian and American, but they all fall under the same breed name,Golden Retriever

I'm a certified professional pet groomer and when I'm done they are ready to be shown. However, I LOVE THIS DOG, A REAL CUTIE. I bathed a GR that was an outside dog and was very badly Matted from head to toe,loaded with fleas and ticks. My dogs never lived outside because they are a part of my family. After removing all the matting, fleas and ticks carefully bathed and groomed they were thrilled how beautiful their dog can look. I have done alot of rescues and I take pride in my grooming doing all pure breeds and loveable mixed breeds.

I have a 8 year old golden retriever, so I can say this I suppose. The dog isn't supposed to lick the shampoo while applying so I usually apply it in the end on his face and pour water and clean before he licks it! And is cutting hair necessary? I have never done it to my dog unless he has a skin infection and needs to be shaved in that area.

I think the next time I bathe my dogs I will try the loofah. It seems like it would work a little better than just using my hands. When using a flea shampoo on my tiny maltipoo that is 8 months old and only 3 pounds would you suggest diluting the shampoo in a bowl like you do in your videos or would it not make much of a difference?

When they are puppies they do wiggle a lot but they calm down as they become adults. Trust me it's so worth it though. Best dog in the world.

I just finished studying at tafe and I would not recommend grooming like this. She needs to get her hands on the dog, the outcome was fine but she would benefit from touching the dog and it looks like she's afraid to. Goldens wouldn't need a clip unless they were show dogs so doing it right is important.

I lightly trim my girl’s feathers, brush her daily, keep the fur on her feet and pads short, clip her nails, brush her teeth. Never taken her to a groomers and she’s beautiful.

i hope his mane was not cut. you really aren't supposed to touch a golden's body fur because it's length will never grow back the same and the mane (counterintuitively) keeps his neck and chest cool in summer. thermal scans show that the neck and mane are the coolest parts of a golden's body thanks to the double coat fur.

Rakko Chan i cant confirm the neck is te coolest area but i can confirm you are never ever supposed to shave a double coated dog (unless for medical reasons like sergery). The coat will not grow back the same. And yes, the coat does keep the dog warm but it also keeps the dog cool. A shaved husky has a much bigger chance of getting heat stroke than a husky with a full coat.

I dont think so, its not a stupid dog, he knows what happening well. He cames to my salon every 2 months so knows me too. The only thing that he does not like is drying around the head.
