Thanks for this video. Both my boys are at the beach every day. Summer it’s very hot and their back leg feathers get wet and matted and stinky. The long fur seems to be a magnet for burrs which they hate and so do I cause they will try and chew them out and then eat them and cough as it gets stuck in their throats. So as much as some comments say they wouldn’t shave their dogs, that’s fine, but my guys would appreciate a shorter cut for the summer. 👍❤️😊

Poor chihuahua! This reminds me when my parents took their golden retriever to the groomer and she did exactly the same- shaved all her hair off. Their hair actually protects these long coat breeds from cold and hot!

Shaving is not grooming!! This beautiful little LONG-haired Chihuahua had beautiful LONG hair, now it will not grow back correctly! This is why you see so many little dogs with mangy-looking coats!!

Why have a long haired Chihuahua if you're just going to shave it all the way down? ): I groom my LHC myself, and I just nip the ends of her hair with scissors.

Well they probably don't want the chihuahua to have allergies, because most longcoat dogs tend to trap for germs and dust particles so they want it clean

Taking a LHC down with a 10 blade is a bit severe and not the best look. If the family wants it that way that's one thing, but I would never do that to my Chi!

I totally agree. I'm grooming a LHC right now and I just clipped him with my #5 blade and I think it's short enough and he looks good. But owner said "I want it short" I don't know if she means #10 short. It's quite ugly IMO. And YA that groomer is way too rough with her handling. No wonder some dogs hate getting groomed.

why shave a long haired chi gosh,, i mean you cat a long coat coz you want a longer coat chi right? instead why not get a smooth coat tho ^^ . such a shame for it luxurious coat. even a long coat chi is not hard to maintain. also the fur of chi wont grown continuously like shi tzu and such. i hope it will grow back.

I have a long haired Chihuahua and her hair gets cut like that in summer and it doesn't take long for it to grow back.. and another problem is they shed a lot too so to me it's not a problem..

The only part of my long coated chi that gets trimmed is his bottom Zak is long coated and beautiful my other chi leo is short coat Zak is gold red colour and Leo is fawn I love my boys

Another groomer turning a long coated chihuahua into a short one. This is not grooming a long coat, it is ruining the coat by a quick clip off, of the owner wanted a short hair one then that's what they should have got, terrible!!!!
