With a workflow really similar to yours, I've reached the point where cranking out a tune in half an hour isn't a problem anymore. The real challenge is knowing when to stop editing :D

Perfect practice for producers who tend to get stuck in their sample selection or 4bar loops.

Very impressive! Goes to show when you know your tools and have a good collection of material, you can get a lot done in a short time. Aside, something about the colour, focus, and framing of the intro and outro looks straight from VHS! Loved it! Just needed the 4:3 aspect ratio 😂

This is almost identical to my current method, which has an extra step somewhere around the bassline where i think "ooh i could put a modulator on that" - this step takes about 6 weeks, by which time the instrument is festooned with modulators modulating modulators, lfos agogo and it sounds rubbish. Then i bin it and start a new one. Always a pleasure and an inspiration to watch you work :)

This is really impressive to showcase the speed and power of Bitwig and your ability to use it efficiently. Not much 'composition' going on though, but is that just because of the 30 min time constraint? Do you normally write your own chords and bass etc or is this sample based approach the norm?

Can this be done with any daw or is it better suited to bigwig? I want to get into making music like this as a total beginner with a midi keyboard and a MacBook Pro

I need 30 minutes to pick or create a few sounds. But then I never use samples or loops, perhaps I should. Great example mate.
