Hey Groovy. There is no one, past, present or likely future that sings with the kind of raw passion and intensity that Courtney does. Doesn't matter if it's a home practice or on the stage in front of thousands, Courtney never looses the pure emotion with which she sings and it enables her to reach out and connect deep within the hearts and souls of her listeners like nobody else can. Beyond the unmatched vocal power, control and versatility and being the most dynamic stage performer around, this quality truly makes her the artist of a lifetime. I can truly say that she is the best I've ever seen or heard. This song was originally a pop hit for the Jonas Bros and Courtney blew it up and re-assembled it into this Funk masterpiece. This rendition just doesn't allow you to sit still when you listen to it. It demands that you move with it. Whenever you hear Courtney sing this, it just puts a smile on your face, a bounce in your step and raises your mood multiple notches for the rest of the day. Any performance and artist that can do that is truly special. You asked as to whether Courtney has an album out other than this EP. Courtney has run into a series of bad breaks (timing wise) in trying to complete and release her debut album of originals. Even before that, she was scheduled to perform at the 50th anniversary of Woodstock (the dream of a lifetime for her) that would have turned her into even more of a mega-star, but in was ultimately cancelled for financial and logistical reasons. Then Covid hit. Courtney is from the UK, but nearly everyone she works with is US based. There was a complete ban on travel from the UK to the US for the last two years, so it was physically impossible for her to be where she needed to be to move her album forward. She has a huge song library due to her powerhouse and prolific song writing skills and a ton of work was done remotely, but when you get to final cuts, some things have to be done in person. That travel ban was lifted last November and Courtney was immediately back in the US working on her album, so a release sometime this year looks promising. In the interim, Courtney has stayed connected with her fans through countless live chats where she shared an almost endless list of songs, including a fair number of originals that were just incredible. Nearly all have been recorded and loaded to KZbin by fans. The song you have remaining from this EP is a fabulous version of 'Someone You Loved'. You will love it. I also recommend you might want to react to her version of 'What's Love Got To Do With It'. It is beyond great and like every song Courtney sings, she made it her own. It is truly gorgeous. You also get to hear and see Courtney's terrific guitar playing skills in the video (Link below). Courtney Hadwin - What's Love Got To Do With It: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYG8lodrrdJ6mMk

By far she is the best singer that I've heard in the last 20 years. I like how another reviewer puts it, she is Yoda, in the Attack of the Clones movie. He was on a cane, then a tornado of energy in battle, back to the old man straight afterwards. Courtney is shy, timid and sweet when not performing, when she is singing, the beast is released, then back to the shy girl immediately afterwards. Rock on Courtney, we cannot wait to hear more.

The most insane thing about this is trying to remember she was only 14 when she did this recording. I don't know what else to say whenever that number is trying to sink into my brain.

I am so impressed by how creative a 14 year old can be in this style. Her ability to change a big hit into a completely different genre is almost scary in a good way. Most artist of any era can't do that. Hell most song writers can't do it either. Yet, Courtney does it every time she decides to.

@@bertpainter8385 I try to think back to when I was 14...hmm, grade 8...mid-puberty, learning how to talk to girls, maybe sneaking in a few beers with buddies, hanging out. Yeah definitely not creating fantastic music videos in studios with professional musicians that are seen worldwide. Lol I've seen a few reactors that hate this song but love Courtney's version. When you can do that, well that's a pretty special talent. Growing up, music was very important to me, owned a $5k stereo and nothing else, saw some of the greatest bands and musicians in the world live, it was the 70's during my teen years. Though I wouldn't say I was really a "fan" in the truest sense of the word of any of them. Just wasn't into the "celebrity" aspect of musicians or anyone else for that matter. Then I'm into my late 50's and stumble across this video of a 13 year old girl and after watching it dumbfounded about 25 times, realized that for the first time in my life that I was a fan of someone. 😎

@@glenroberts9831 Yep, Courtney is a rare breed. The great ones like her know what they want early on in life and then follow their dreams with hard work and a vision. The rest of us tend to follow a path we were programmed to until something clicks later on. Many never find their dreams. Courtney is one of few who make new paths and ideas in music that are so different from all others. She'll probably do the same in other areas of her life as she grows. Let's see at 14 I was in between finding myself as a jock or a hippy. I chose hippy after I realized the jock world had favoritism's. Took me a while to realize the politics in it. Fortunately, I had friends who got me started with playing rock and blues guitar after being taught by jazz teachers which I hated. Rock and blues had so much more feel to me than any other music when I starting learning how to play that genre. Courtney reminds me of how that felt early on. The emotions and attitude she shows when performing is so much fun to watch. Her vocals though, are just insane. Love it, how she plays with her voice to give that rock vibe.

Not much I can add to comments except to agree with your remarks about intensity and power. Aretha was a good example of power with the observation that Courtney's vocal characteristics are very different. I trust you also noticed how creatively different--and better IMO--Courtney's take on Sucker is from the original Jonas Brothers version, if you remember it now. She does not have another album out yet, but one appears imminent.

Hey Groovy you have to react to her version of "What's Love Got To Do With It" by Tina Turner where our queen also plays the guitar. So much talent......

Besides having all that power and such a unique timbre to her vocals, Courtney knows how to play with her voice to get some really cool vocals sounds with so much attitude. Kinda like (well not really the same but...) what Brian Johnson does for AC/DC. They both play with changing their vocals to give energy in their vocals, except that Courtney is so much more diverse with what she can do with hers. Brian Johnson is probably a bad example, but he was 1st person that came to mind on how someone else manipulates their vocals to sound so different from all the others. She's just so different. Another reason why people will resonate to her and why she's already becoming an icon. Not so sure I wait so long for your next Courtney reaction. 😛

I always love seeing someone react to Courtney and your reactions are no exception. Courtney has an impact unlike anyone I've come across in a long long time. I also love it when reactors go back and look at what Courtney was doing in her early years (I should say earlier years as she is still in her early years). Along those lines I'd suggest you take a look at a very young Courtney doing I Have Nothing back in 2014. She's in a club, or kareoke or something similar; she a little girl staning in her jeans in front of the crowd. The place is loud with conversation and the clinking of glasses and cutlery. Courtney begins to sing starting off quietly just over the noise of the crowd. As she sings a bit more there is someone "shushing" the crowd; they are begining to get Courtney. By the time Courtney gets to the chorus she has the crowd, which initially paid little attention to her, in the palm of her hand. Her magic wowed the crowd. Here's the link to her performance if you'd like to check it out. Peace. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGa1aIp_j7x-fbM

Courtney has said she wants to do a new type of music along the lines of Amy Winehouse,. If a recording label can't make a go if it with this gal they need to find a new line of work.

YT just sent me to you. You have some focus on the new generation of women singers. Time you started adding Laura Bretan. She is both high and powerful. Of course there is the AGT audition. Then check out “The Prayer” for her quarter-final. Next favorite is ~ 2 or 3 years later with Nella Fantasia at the Bucharest Orchestra concert
