My tin foil hat theory after watching this is that through her comatose state, she has realized Charlie and Megan are the killers in a series of murders happening in real life. The doctor and the detective are in cahoots to execute these murders and Lois was onto them. While in the coma she pieced it together in her dreams. In one part of this episode when Megan and Lois are fighting, Megan says some quote about death and it switches to real life and Charlie says the same thing. That has to be hinting at something. I think Grotesquerie probably exists in real life as well.

Well… I was wrong… I think? 😂 Most all signs are pointing toward Megan not being the killer, but there was that ominous dream Lois had where Megan was covered in blood, unless that was an omen that Megan’s bf was going to try to kill her? They’re already establishing that Lois may be able to predict the future, so was that a sign Megan was in danger? Charlie is still a bit sus though the jury is still out.

Dreaming of picking red objects often signifies a strong emotional response or a focus on passionate aspects of your life, as red is typically associated with intense feelings like anger, love, desire, or excitement, depending on the context of the dream and your emotions during it. Seeing red in your dreams is likely to be a sign that you have strong emotions about something in your waking life. Highly symbolic, red has a vast array of meanings assigned to it across different cultures: Anger. Warning.

A bit more film theory than color theory, this show feels like it draws heavier inspiration from David Lynch’s work than previous Murphy stuff. Particularly, it often reminds me of Twin Peaks, where red is often a color associated with slipping between this world and the other- the main area of the spirit world is depicted as a maze of red velvet curtains. When it comes to color theory, red is a gory color. It is immediately stimulating to the human brain due to its associations with blood, desire, and rage. These themes, are tonally consistent with cyclical processes of the body, mind or soul. A lot of this show is dealing with cyclical problems in individuals, society, and government. All that to say, I think the color red is a visual cue to when something is directly ‘bleeding’ into Lois’ subconscious. When Sister Meaghan repeats Dr. Charlie verbatim, her face is almost stained red from the blood.

I wanted to be delusional and believe it was all real and there was a supernatural presence causing people to be evil that somehow helped the cult or somehow “possessed” the people in the cult to do these evil deeds 😒. Kind of like the movie Constantine. My theory pretty much happened with the nun and the priest being part of the cult cause I suspected the freaky nun pretty earlier on. Megan is her professional rival and she presented as a Nun in her dream state because Lois views her as a holier than thou person who is actually quite sly and cunning. Marshall confirms this because Megan made complaints about her at work and would not let her enter her hospital room. However, I do not think she is a killer. I think some victims kid from old DV case has been visiting her and retelling her what's going to happen. Cop Megan was informed a DV victims family was suing the PD for negligence... so me thinks its someone else altogether.

The bizarre motel where everyone seemed to be a homicidal maniac with a firearm EXCEPT the woman we are expected to believe is a homicidal maniac, Sister Megan. The whole thing had a dreamlike feel to it, and I guess that should have been a clue. Micaela Diamond breaking into 'I Don't Know How To Love Him' on the road trip to the firepit (wtf ?) was nothing short of sensational - I knew nothing of her Broadway background. The "... and it was all a dream"/they were in a coma the whole time-trope was not what I ever expected to see and it was not a pleasant surprise. I hate how it felt like such a rip off after getting so invested in the storyline, although I guess it makes some of the outrageous and absurd behaviours of some characters (eg. Nurse Redd) seem less unusual if they belong in the context of Lois' subconscious. The POV scenes of the Priest and Nun without Lois around make less sense in this false reality though.

Jesus, lord, save me from Ryan Murphy. We just spent 6 episodes watching a dream? What should have been done in one, perhaps two, episodes took SIX episodes. I call, FILLER GALORE, that's the true Grotesqueire here. That said, I knew something was up because so much of this show had a crazy, Alice In Wonderland, feel about it. But to think he, Murphy, would spend more than HALF of the shows running time in a dream is... well... gross. Episode one was brilliant. Raven Goodwin was born to be on the screen, and she is the perfect fit for this show. Niecy Nash was also perfect for her part. Sadly, as is often with the cast with anything Ryan Murphy touches, maintaining quality is always out of reach. He just can't seem to keep the balloon in the air, (you know what I mean). Alas, now that I have been pulled into this rabbit hole, I will buckle up and watch the last three episodes. Let's see how Murphy tries to save himself this time. Murphy always infects his fans with Shyamalan Syndrome; that's where people really hope for the best - but know they may get the worst. Haha. (You know it's true)

I thought it was cliche but executed well, kept me interested.

Is it possible to hate the story but love the performances. That's where I'm at now. I did not like the twists in Ep 7. The crazy thing is that I know it's exactly what's supposed to make the viewers go "Wow" but I found myself moaning in disappointment. But I do love most of the characters and maybe the last few episodes will bring me around. Right now, though, I feel cheated.

was waiting for a breakdown because i was so confused though i did have a feeling she was dreaming or something because things were so weird in ep 5/6 and than ep 7 when she talks to the detective about her retiring and she yells “wake up lois” when lois walks out and pass the balloons they are not celebration balloons they are get better balloons.

imo the most interesting part of the rest of the show is now based on REAL LIFE STUDIES on a '6th sense' we have done this yr (no not seeing the dead lol) theey have new studies this yr IRL (and they bring up future tech in the show fair bit too) saying we may have a 'real 6th sense' and its basically how we dont use all of our brainpower at once yet we take in a lot of things like images/smells/etc our brains accept but dont bother consideringering (hence bad vibes about people could be due to noticing micro-expressions/actions etc - basically 'trusting ur gut' could have scientific reasoning behind it so im SO curiuos if her 'subcionsous coma vibes' she got as a detective esp, from the nun/priest/eddy/daughter etc end up being kinda based in the REAL reality - idk i still think the daughter and fast eddie are behind it as my s5 onward longshot hteory lol

Also in episode one, her daughter asked her about that “rash” she had on her side and it was circular shaped just like the “rash” that was on Marshall when he was in the hospital and they turned him and we could see it.

The nurse was a little much and orderly was so old fashioned im glad it wasn't real cuz it didn't make sense they had to make it a dream it was smart of them to do so .. makes me wonder if they realized that those characters didn't make sense and made the writers go back to the drawing board .. let's see what's gonna happen with these last episodes

So disappointed. It’s not really a twist if everyone sees it coming after the first hour. Plus we are way past halfway through the season. This was 7 so only 3 left. I get everyone being excited for the actors in a show but come on now!! It could be Anthony Hopkins, Denzel Washington and cate blanchett but if the story is beyond ridiculous and trying to be unpredictable for unpredictables sake it’s still DUMB. Gotta start passing on Ryan Murphy going forward. After season 4 of AHS and the first two seasons of Horror Stories he’s given us a whole lot of bad tv.
