I stopped using tube amps for awhile now. I switched to the Quilter Microblock and never looked back. It takes pedals well and works with any speaker cab I have. 😊

I love the Iridium and I think it takes dirt and driven tones VERY well. I think it probably sounds better than my tube amps, too.

Is your drive knob set to the lowest for a true clean amp sound on the iridium? I'm having a tough deciding on whether getting a pedal to dirty up my clean setting just enough , (which is my always on sound) or just push the drive knob till I get that dirty clean sound.

It was turned down pretty low but I never keep the Iridium at zero.

@@GetOffset gotcha. But you didn't turn it to the point it breaks up, you had the amaterasu do that right? Would you say the amaterasu driving it when it's clean sounds better than the drive knob turned up to break up? Just don't want to buy a pedal if the iridium's dirty sound is fine on its own. I do love the sound but I feel like I want to play thru it like a real amp with it as clean as possible and using the amaterasu as a dirt pedal to drive it for that dirty clean always on sound I have

@@BlackstoneJ Yeah that's correct. Check out the video -- I do play clean for a bit before I hit the pedal. As for "better" it's hard to say but it would definitely get the amp to give more than it usually would. Do you already have the Iridium? I'd try it out on its own first. It has the option for presets so you can bounce between a dirty and clean preset.

@@GetOffset yes I'm the owner of an iridium. That's why I'm asking you specifically , since you have that and the amaterasu. I don't want to get it if the iridium with the drive turned up to that dirty clean sound I like as my always -on sounds the same as the amaterasu driving the clean iridium setting. You know what I mean?
