Seven years ago we built our house on Masbate Island with a size of 175 m2 ground floor and 175 m2 top roof. The size is also perfect for business because the ceiling is very high and the rooms are big. After the project was done my wife said that we only need 60 to 80 m2 because it's too much cleaning to do every day. We also have a Beach House which is small and my wife loves it very much. Maybe in the future we will build another smaller house on our land and rent out the big house for commercial use.... The future will show. 😊

Roof form design is an art that some Architects don't really explore much...finns house here was a fantastic opportunity for the architect to go all in with a really cool wonderful eco-high tech roof design I think

That steel roof sheeting needs help to be Cyclone proof, the way it is now wont stand up to a direct hit, I lived in Cyclone regions in Australia and was directly hit many times, never lost my roof, Finn check building techniques in the North West region of Western Australia. The house looks great, it will be great for you two to kick back and reap your rewards.

Just saying , the reason to put insulation sheets under the metal roof , is because air that it trapped under the roof will produce condensation, and That will compromise the iron girder, it will rust , eventually seeping down to your inside ceiling and leave rust stains , eventually the screws let loose and leek or fly off in the wind, they make a insulation that you can spray on and that is the best, seals everything, and gives extra strength, it’s expanding insulation foam , encapsulates everything , it goes on quickly, it actually seals the roof from the inside and stops any leaks that may happen , plus if it’s put on right , overlapping the berms , it adds holding power

Nice storage room guys put a slideding door in your storage room so that look nice and neat you can put also some pulling closet under stairs beside storage room...if someday your extra room will be occupied with your future children you can built a guest house detach from your house it will be good privacy also your guest and obcourse to your family..just suggestions guys..thank you so much guys for always being generous to your workers God will bless you more than you give.. im so happy to see all the update of your house construction,.keep up the good work guys! Nice roof color Finn! Reflective colors reflects 80% of the Sun's rays. In my house, I placed the reflective insulation with a 8 inch space between the roof and the insulated layer. Look up "Creating a thermal barrier. The construction workers didn't know what I meant and were reluctant to do it. I had to convince them. Since then, my father-in-law has said the house feels much cooler.

You and Sherlyn are very generous/compassionate employer. Back then at the office, employees were given incentives like cash equivalent or certificates for having no absences for a year (in your case for 1 month). Really nice of you to do the same with your workers. It just showed how you care for their wellbeing which is not often practiced these days. You are right it is being a good employer and it also makes good business sense. Employees are rewarded for turning up and doing their job and you get largely uninterrupted production. Most successful employers use incentive schemes without creating undue expectations. It is a pity though when building in PI that many suppliers do not seem to understand the basic concept of delivering on the quoted date. Plenty of unsubstantiated explanations for delivery delays and that is usually a larger challenge than the workers turning up on site.

That’s looking good,it’s nice they are cementing the roads just in time for when you guys move in… we have property in Bukidnon ( currently in Canada 🇨🇦 waiting for the green light once development is done. I don’t know if you ever noticed but in phillipines they use cement for roads that don’t have much shade and asphalt for areas with lots of shade , I was told it’s because asphalt gets destroyed by the bigger vehicles in the hot unshaded areas… you can see when you’re travelling the national highway from CDO to Lanoe Del Norte, they literally have sections of cemented highway intertwined with asphalt in the shady areas. It’s a lot of work to do road repairs on cement compared to asphalt, but asphalt is cheaper and less manual power to repair/fix. Stay safe you guys! Yep. Drainage is very important in raised locations like that. Especially in the Philippines which is mostly limestone underneath that soil. If water can't drain properly, it can form sinkholes.

Just a friendly reminder; Make sure roof insulation, min. 10mm thick Double sided, is installed prior to metal roof installation, it's important for thermal protection and roof noise reduction during heavy rains

They don't understand about a "Thermal Barrier" ask them. Adding insulation directly on the metal will only create radiant heat. The "thermal Barrier" will reflect the heat back to the surface of the roof to disipate.
