I feel like the sound never gets enough credit in these 16mm videos so yeah nice work on the sound design/editing!
@Blorps0_02 жыл бұрын
I was wondering this, I'm assuming all the sound is put on there when editing? Guessing these cameras don't have great (any?) sound?
@EnoffSayd2 жыл бұрын
@@Blorps0_0 Yeah I'm guessing they used microphones that they hid out of frame which go to an external recorder, as well as potentially using sounds from a library, I'm leaning more towards the library but there are some moments that are very specific like 2:18 when he rolls off and then over the cracks, either that's the actual audio of that trick being done or it's some really well thought out sound design with library sounds.

@@timethemonkeysurgeon7979 Or they mic'd up Austyn, or they could have had another filmer standing behind the guy with the 16mm camera to get higher quality audio/video from the same point of view, and then it's a matter of extracting the audio, syncing it with the 16mm video and changing the pitch to make it seems like it's real time instead of slo-mo...

There are a handful of 16mm cameras that have microphones but I’m not sure how the sound is recorded. But all in all the sound however they did it was fantastic

Enjoyed it a bunch, Austyn is the man. I don't know why some people are complaining. The video is chill as fuck, it is like he is just cruising around and having fun, just like skating is supposed to be. This is so much more enjoyable than let's say a primitive video, go Austyn, this shit is great!

welp,, lot of people are into so called "shotgun editing" pioneered by Zero if i remember corectly - 2-3 second clips(rails usually) stitched together over fast paced punk rock in endless barrage. & it makes only sense that for those people more laid back/chill edits seem too slow :)
