Thank you! I have loads of this plant around our property and I've always thought it smelled appetizing, sort of zesty. I'm going to try your dressing recipe for sure!

The dressing tastes so nice!! A great use for such a health-promoting plant! Make tea as well! If you have lovage in your garden make a tea with lovage and ground ivy ... tastes amazing!

I have this all around me too.. so nice to know what it's called and even nicer to know it's a wild edible! I wish they taught this stuff in schools! Is there a best time of year to harvest the leaves for that salad dressing?

Nice! This should be taught in schools as it is a useful knowledge. Spring is always best however it grows throughout the summer so it can be used then as well! Never let a good thing go to waste!!!!

Thank you. I have a question for you. Is there a limit to the amount you can consume of this plant( Ground Ivy )?

I have this growing over another plant in my yard. Should I remove it?
@EdibleWildFood-12 жыл бұрын
Personal choice - if you really want that other plant then carefully remove "Charlie"! He will come back as he is persistent!

The other kind of Ivy growing on tree trunks also does the same thing, it’s not a bad weed.

How do u plant this?
@EdibleWildFood-14 жыл бұрын
I don't - it grows all on its own! I would assume a garden centre has seeds?!
@YSLRD3 жыл бұрын
DON'T!!! You can only consume it in small amounts. It, however, will consume your entire yard. If you don't care, think of your neighbors.

Better question, how do you eradicate it? I got it spreading in my yard from the neighbors

@@alleyoop5185 it's loaded with vitamin C is what I heard.Dont get rid of it, the Europeans brought it here to avoid scurvy. It's a good source and I think it's beautiful ❤️
