Indegenous tribes of Manipur include Anal,Aimol , Maring, Meitei, Thadou, Kabui, Tankhul, etc,,, The kuki came Manipur after 1990 as refugees due to the impact of war bettwen Nagas and Kukis … Kukis don’t have any proper legal land proper in North east India.. They came from Myanmar as *Refugees *

@@TejasajeT 1. The Meiteis are eligible for all other reservations except the ST one while the ST is not. This one can be solved by having talks with the state government if they believe they aren't given their dues in the other seat reservations such as SC, OBC, or EWS. They don't need ST for that if they can go for that solution. And there won't be any pushback or the pushback would be negligible. 2. This will give them the ability to legally own land in the Hill areas. Which normal average people won't benefit from but the rich mf from their community will be the ones to gain from that. The problem is the Meiteis are paranoid about their existence when no one cared about claiming their Imphal Valley even when there are loads of separatist movements in the state which made them want to claim more land in the hill areas as their own historically making the people in the hill area upset.
