I got 2 ground zero gziw 12xspl-d2 and 3000rms amp do you have any dimensios for box

hey man. not sure if you still reply to comments. but i got a ground zero gziw 12xspl-d2. it's a dual 2 ohm version. should essentially be the same. i want to be able to play the sub at low volume's with it reproducing atleast some realistic bass.. but somewhat SPL shake when i crank it up. would it be possible with your medium or big SQ size ported enclosures?
@BoarAudio Жыл бұрын
That new version has more excursion and lower Fs, if you have the space you can get really low digging and still SPL capable setup in bigger 70 litre box. 160cm2 55cm port, that puts tuning around 30hz and can play to 27hz in full 1000w. Port can be example 40cm tall and 4cm width slot port, note that for slot port length could be slightly different for same tuning than round port, but you can start around that 55cm length.

@@BoarAudio ah not too bad! i'm not sure what volume i will have in the end. i went to a guy who did measurements and will make me a box tuned with WINISD and another program. not sure if it will quite reach the 70Litre mark but i feel like it would get close enough. what does 27 hz achieve though? my old 150 watt jbl HIFI sub used to be tuned to 27 hz and it was amazing. but i read online that the body thumping feeling lays more around the 30 to 45 hz. the box i am getting is going to be tuned between 35 and 40 hz. unless you'd recommend me to stick with the lower frequencies? i can easily get a big enough box in there but for this car i wanted to leave some space for groceries. and some space for showing the amps during shows :P thanks for the information though!

@@rayproductionsbackupchanne3862 Way you are doing it sounds good, because if you want to save some space raising the tuning little bit gives better results. For most music you don’t need anything under 35hz. That 70 l was only the air space port not included so the actual box size could easily be like 100 l. That sub is very versatile and will probably work great in the box you are getting.

so i have 2x of these subs would it sound bad if i had one medium spl box and one in the medium sq box and i would probably need 2 amplifiers ?
@BoarAudio2 жыл бұрын
Probably would not sound bad, but it will not give you perfect blend, meaning double the performance, because tuning and phase behaviour of those two boxes would be different. And yes two channels (or amplifiers) with different filters would be advised. If you want both sq and spl, 100l-140l box for two of these, tuned around 35-39hz with enough port area, and example 800W-2kW@2ohm mono amplifier, maybe could give better all-around performance than two different boxes.

So which type and size of a box should i get when i want it to play as low and loud as possible without the sub getting harmed
@BoarAudio3 жыл бұрын
Depends what sub you have and how much power. In this case at 5:30 video shows many options from left option having ability to take a lot of power on to the right having lower capacity.

So, if im understanding correctly, i have 2 of these drivers, and for the big size vented box for sq i should need a port with a surface are of 372cm2 with a length of 40cm or?
@BoarAudio2 жыл бұрын
Yes correct, box volume doubles, and port are doubles but port length stays the same. You can use two 6" - 40cm port or one 8" - 33cm port. If you make slot port you might need to make that shorter than equivalent round vent, aim tuning at 34-36hz.

@@BoarAudio i have 88cm width and 45cm of height available physically, which depth should i use, and yes, im gonna use a slot port, sorry for asking these questions but im a noob at this, i know the basics, but also dont want to waste my boot space, had an sq box for a jbl 15" once, took almost all of the available space, yes, was loud and got low but im trying not to run the same shit again

Hi! Where were you 4 weeks ago!? This video is very helpful! I've build 25L seald box for this woofer, and its crap... I have another one 56L ported and it is a dream but it is too big for my car... that is why I build seald one. Question, can I port this smaller one, and how?
@BoarAudio3 жыл бұрын
Nice to hear that you find the video helpful. 25l is not enough for ported it would not be any better than the sealed, if you cant fit the 45l vented box, smallest option that I would go with vented would be 35l in air volume and 4" 35cm port.

500W to 1000W @ 1ohm, depends what box you want to use, check power numbers at 5:27 upper right side of the screen. Those power numbers are not accurate they just give an idea how much different box types may influence at max power before linear xmax is starting to pass in each enclosure.
