Grounded in Grassington in our Consort Reef NOvember 2023

Our Consort Reef got stuck in Grassington, the weather was terrible, even our General Grapper tyres had no chance !!! Bates Recovery, Skipton, saved us, at a cost though !!

I've only been slightly slippy/stuck so far and my Milenco mats snapped! I do carry a tow rope and small shovel now. I'd have been tempted to lay some of those stones down that were near the recovery truck and give that a go. I really like the look of those tyres and been close to buying a couple of times but they really shine on a 4x4. Every day's a school day! Thanks for sharing.

we put some of the stones down but it did nothing, just way to muddy, a lot worse tan it looked on the video. Got a tow rope now 🙂 Cheers, Trev Debz and Tyler

It’s happened to us all - when we had the previous motorhome I ended up on the grass as the site owner was in the way and got stuck and ended up getting quite stuck, bent the back of the chassis pulling it out as a permanent reminder. Happened a second time and the rac pulled me and another one out at the same time in like a Y formation at a caravan club rally. And of course the Willowfields earlier in the year all be it that wasn’t stressful at all as they were setup for it. Almost everyone got stuck there and fancy off-road tyres made no odds at all. Probably won't be my onlyt time 🙂 The tyres had no chance, the ground was tbh a lot worse than it looked, Dougie just got stuck straight away, no damage done though. A farmer did offer to pull us out in his 4 x 4 but had no rope, and neither did we, we have now though ! 🙂 He was a lovely bloke, he was really sorry he could nt help us. Glad you made it off guys... don't worry though, Scot and Jane got stuck in sand in Spain last week - looking forward to hearing how they got out of that one with help from the locals - not sure about Scot's Spanish though!!!? LOL!!!

Aww did they, had too much faith in our tyres i guess, but the ground really was bad, worse than it looked on the video., the recovery driver said even with them tyres we did nt have much chance. Cheers mate, hope all is well with everyone.

Cheers guys - yes all good at the factory and busy as ever! Sure we'll see you again at some point, still loving those wheels/tyres even if they weren't much use in those conditions which looked awful. even if you had a set of grabber tyres on, with the ground being so wet and you sinking into the grass you would have been stuck, i know it's embarrassing but we have all been there at some point in our lives. embrace it and move on

Not a criticism but how come you asked if it was ok to film and the only bit not filmed (the pull out) wasn’t shown? Also I really think Debz should have done a “mud angel” in the bit where you were stuck 😂

Debz would not get out of the van due to the mud and heavy rain, and i had to steer it while been winched out out so could not film it, was a lot worse than it looked and i was bloody freezing, cheers Trev

Hi, the front seat covers are just two throw overs from B & M that dad got, she just tucked them in and tied them to fit, they do work brilliantly, worked out at £8 each, cheers Trev

The seat covers do look good 👌will definitely have a look for something similar. Also got tow rope in the garage now, super nice you shared that experience for others to take note, fingers crossed neither of us will need to use them. My wife was most impressed with how you both kept calm giving the circumstances, I think she is trying to tell me something.🤣
