What I dislike about chips from the highway crews here in Oregon is when the cut limb falls to the ground it picks up seeds from the invasive plants growing there. I saw a horrible plant come in from that. I cannot get rid of it. Roundup seems to act like a fertilizer.. I will buy a chipper and chip my own so really enjoyed all the uses you cite here. Thanks so much.

Invasive plants are a human construct. Plants don't have boundaries. These "invasives" you speak of are successful at displaying a symptom of your soil. Using proper livestock management on your land is the key to getting the land back into harmony.
