Groundwater Pumping: Introduction and Effects

This lesson focuses on groundwater as it pertains to drinking water. The lesson introduces the idea of a water footprint, then discusses infiltration, groundwater storage and flow, and pumping. The effects of pumping are also covered, including land subsidence and well drawdown. (Note: This lesson can be used in conjunction with the Groundwater Basics and Environmental Applications Lesson and Groundwater Pollution Tracing Lesson to be used as a unit series covering groundwater and associated concerns).

Fine marble crystallized workout! Action on the groundwater presented with both side elaborate and strong can be called or refered to the pumping. It is important to divide groundwater flow as you mention with "big words" : spring, rivers, underground lakes, confined aquifers and ~pumping~! The pumping of the groundwater especially from the karst for irrigation purposes and water storage can be called phenomenon as you define. Moreover, today, it is gaining prominence supply as a technological method. On the land the pumping can significantly lower level in its path as well as vertical level in the oceans. Consequently, when pumping the groundwater particulary in densely populated areas, it is necessarry to carefully measure and assess the pumping effects and to consider them in the designing structures.
