As usual, G2 just gotta give their fans the heart attacks we signed up for. Massive, massive props to Complexity. They look really solid as a team. Grim on Anubis was a monster! After round 10, he went 26-3! Insane! Niko is back! Whooo! 1.39 over 3 maps is absurd for a rifle! #2 player this year, and hopefully m0nesy keeps his pace of making #4 as well. I don't think he'll end up being 4th, but top ten for sure, also complexity can play better too, they played a really good series overall, they pushed g2 to their limits, doesn't matter if hunter or jks didn't play but it's a fact that complexity played well

I had this running theory that g2 only wins if 3/4 of their fraggers are active but i guess that's disproved here. As for the rankings, i think itll end up being Zywoo, Niko, Shiro, M0nesy, S1mple, maybe s1mple over m0nesy if he closes the year out strong. Mind if i ask who your top 5 is?

Actually yeah, they've mentioned it in the past EPL but their goal with EPL commentating in the group stage is to make it as casual as possible. It's because the tournament is basically the longest one in the year, even longer than Majors (not including RMRs), so to make sure no one burns out from watching group stage games they make commentating and even the content between matches as fun as possible. Sometimes players from other teams join the casters and basically have a podcast, sometimes the casting crew plays games or puts on some fun skits in-between games. Given how about 60% of the group stage games are pretty boring and one-sided imho, it really makes up for it.

That's one of the most interesting things. They get hyped when the rounds are tensed. When the round is boring like eco rounds, they talk about things like pizza toppings. Like you said, just a couple of friends.

@@Pyxyty or g2 couldd be going for the astralis train tactic during majors, where they would pick up experience from others in anubis, and pick up the "needs" to destroy and conquer anubis but yeah, they could do overpass as well, niko performs well in overpass, M0nesy seems to be interested , Hooxi experiences during CPH Flames. The last time g2 used overpass was in IEM Chicago 2019, during the last stage of the French G2 lineup
