One crucial thing you missed (even though the difficulty might make it irrelevant in your case) is bosses havnt different and higher rarity scaling. It’s easily noticeable in a quick test.

Does dust still not do anything for runes? I still haven't found a single power rune to max my town...

The only one I've found was a drop from the pirate boss. Shipments have given me a few Time runes but no Power.

Got 1 power from ship and 2 from starfall crater boss, if you want the higher runes it feels like to me that mapping for starfalls is more consistent

Dust does not affect runes or tattoos, only the currency/items. Always check the wiki for this info.

if you really cant find any, just boss rush maps with anything thats worth for you (jun, essence, maven invitations) and look for the boss in maps. he does have a chancce to drop them like the others. but might take a bit XD i got it like 2 times from around the 10 times i fighted him. also what works too is sending really small ships with 1 crew member ( can be rank 5) so you have a higher chance encountering a pirate. not shipment value but just overall "bad crew" helps

I've been farming t17 maps (3) and only made profit in one of the maps what is the strategy because I'm clearly doing something wrong. I specced into strongboxes essences ritual and a little bit of expedition and Harb the rest is in scarab nodes

The only difference is that atlas bosses drop way more uniques. I ran both strategies a lot. Bosses are more uniques. Rogue exiles are more gold/scarab

what scarabs do u use when u run with exiles?

@@nkp349 I did it on glacier because the map Boss beeing like 8 or 9 unique monsters. I did not use the 2 extra mods on uniques because you need a really strong build to deal with that. ( seems extremely worth tho) 2 gigantic 1 pair 1 titanic scarab 1 rogue exile scarab. In your atlas tree you don’t take the big note at the bottom that gives exiles 100% more life for extra rewards. That doesn’t change the drops at all except that you lose the set currency reward you lose on the exiles heads. If your build ks that broken that you still oneshot them you can take it, but the 1 divine in value get every 100 exiles killed doesn’t seem worth to me 😅 But honestly that strat is only worth if you can handle it in t17 like steel here. I only farmed a lot of scarabs and gold, uniques not so much

Because it's not inherently unintended. The scarabs state what they do. GGG did not balance the loot, just like they didn't QA the envy and spectral wolves enchantments people use to steamroll the entire campaign.

Dust had literally no effect on rewards before the patch except to slightly increase the number of armor and jewelry items you received from bars. The "shipment value" number going up meant nothing and only increased your shipping risk. Dust actually does something now, it just doesn't boost rune returns.

10k dust got me nothing, 100k got me 1 divine. Same ship value on all my tests and the extra dust seemed to upgrade currency but not the amount.
