Poor evaluator. She just couldn’t keep her trap shut. 😅

Agreed. How was he supposed to know her aunt was “a very special person”? Why bring her dolls to be appraised if she already knows everything about them (judging by how many times she interrupted). 🙄

I can feel that she wasn’t genuinely satisfied with the numbers, I feel she believes her collection has more value to it than that.

I bet the appraiser was floored when he saw those dolls and heard the history.

I was brought here by a search of Antiques Road Show Shirley Temple Doll. this was as close as YT found. I remember my favorite Antiques Roadshow moment was back in the 90s, this woman presented a Shirley Temple doll, supposedly gifted to her by an elderly friend, and she thinks it's from the 30s, but she has no idea what it's worth, yada, yada, and this snooty queen is turning it over and he begins to very disdainfully explain to her how it cannot be a genuinely vintage product, based on the materials in it, and it's clothing and then he actually pulls out a concealed price tag from under its dress, revealing it to have been purchased from Woolworths for $19, and "based on my analysis, that's exactly what I would estimate as its worth." It was so funny! I think it inspired an episode of Will and Grace. I wish someone would upload that clip.

Weird. I just saw a British Path video that featured this lady a few months ago....pretty random

This woman ruined what could have been a wonderful segment. Be quiet and let the appraiser do the talking.

Beautiful dolls. Not like the Barbie, plastic, mass produced rubbish we see today. We have not seen a beautiful doll on sale for years.

dso1509: I fear you may be right. She seemed more interested in showing how she knew more about Heizer personally (well, of course she did -- she is her niece) than in letting the appraiser educate the rest of us about...the dolls. She kept repeating "very special person" as opposed to artist, but I don't think she gave any evidence of same. I mean, did she endow an art department at some university, for example? Having said all that, I loved the dolls.
