A few years ago i had severely beat up the guy who was abusing my mother. There was actually a woman killed by a shark in her salt water, beach-side pool. They think it came in with a particularly large wave. The police left it in the pool for her husband to kill, at his request.

I was a Commercial Diver in the Northeast (Boston) for about 20 years 80's & 90's, Marine Construction, I never saw a shark and I was always comforted by Co workers telling me that there were no sharks in these waters, especially Great Whites as they (alledgedly) prefered the warmer waters of the Gulf Stream. Then towards the end of that career I saw a news clip of a 15' Great White caught off of Beverly, which is not too far from where i worked and also near where i frequently dove for lobsters. Needless to say i Rarely go scuba diving in this area any longer, the visibility is usually minimal 5-10' and with modern technology ie. The prevalence of tracking devices that have shown the migration patterns of Great Whites i see that the Claim of them not being in these waters are a total fallacy ! They're everywhere, even right off popular beaches were 1000's of people swim(unaware that there are Great Whites a mere couple hundred feet away. It seems there Was a decline in their numbers due to the depletion of their #1 prey (seals) But with the revival of the Seal population due to being protected, So to are the Great Whites coming back in large numbers. I Don't Hate sharks or anything, I just have NO desire to play with fire. You don't stand a chance when you can't see them !

I started diving when I was 7yrs and finished when I was 65. For the last 25 yrs my family would not dive unless there was at least 3 divers. Two fished and one dived with a shot gun that was water proofed. It's the only way to stop a hungry shark. We shot it for real only once. But it proved it's worth.

As an RN, I was working the 4th of July weekend day shift. These friends and a newly wed couple for about 6 months were water skiing on a public lake called Lake Shelby. (Shelby was my grandfather’s middle name, and he used to work for the military at Camp Shelby.) Lake Shelby is across the road from Camp Shelby; it is back in the woods with camp sites with cabins or just pitch a tent, or bring your RV or Camper. A nice place to go in Mississippi and have fun fishing, skiing, tubing, hiking and walking the trails. Well, the friends are in the boat watching one of their friend’s ski. The steering cable, to the steering wheel breaks as the driver is turning to go back and pick up the fallen skier. The drive/new husband is thrown out out the bout. The new bride is also because of were she’s sitting. The automatic kill switch did not kill the boat when the driver went over board, instead it went in a circle and the propeller caught one of the driver’s legs and cut him all the way up his back thigh, buttocks, and up his anal canal. The propeller broke his femur bone. The he wife had only bruises and abrasions. We think the husband shielded her. She rarely left the hospital. His condition got 4 weeks was touch and go. He in the hospital for 6 months. He had surgeries every other day to wash out the wounds. He had multiple blood transfusions. It took two hours to do his wound care each time. Bath him and change his linen yesterday. He was one of my most severe patient and memorials. They had there one year anniversary in the hospital. The nurses who cared for him first hand and loved them both dearly gave them a plaque and flowers and anniversary cake. The doctors pitched in also. The anniversary night the doctor wrote and order for the husband and wife not to be disturbed from 7:00 pm to 7:00am. Vital signs were taking. Ice pitch filled. Meds given. Patient and wife informed if anything needed call. No interruptions. The patient recovered after multiple blood transfusions, surgeries, physical therapy and the Will to carry on. The patient said he would become an physical therapy. His wife never left his side except for person care for her self.

I jumped off my friends boat one time when we were on the water and elbowed a shark on it's back. They told me I wouldn't do it. I had to prove them wrong. It thrashed around in the water after I landed on it smacking me with its fin and then swam off probably thinking wtf. I wouldn't do it again though. WOW!! what a great story guys this should be a movie. They did one on a girl who lost her arm which was cool but nothing like the love this guy who got bite by the shark and all his friends pulled together like pros. This is what the world needs to see in a great movie! I cried for him and tried not to see the parts where it shows him surviving. At the end I stopped crying about the bad and was crying because of your friends and him surviving like pros. I love you all for what you did your all awesome don't forget that. Peace and God speed! I remember reading that for every one person that is bit by a shark, we kill 10,000, so the odds are definitely in our favor. Always have respect for nature, she's more powerful than we can imagine. Glad he's ok.

All areas of the Gulf has bull sharks in it🤣 Even the pristine tourist areas have sharks. Smh
