Yes they looks a like but Its different species.. Akame scale more darker than barramundi and akame means red eye.. barramundi mean big silver scale.. both are great fish
Hey, really liked your videos till akame fishing started and this video. I stopped when u started to use 50cm mullet as bait. Thats Ridicioulus and not necessary. Also playing hooked fish on light tackle when u know those big ones are around. They are old an RARE fish, so dont waste them by letting them swim away with a hook in their mouth. Fisherman in future generations wanna catch fish like these. If they are not well treated in sportfishing they will dissapear sooner or later...greetings from a german fisherman.
Another heartstopping video Kakapon-san! Love it ! Here in South East Asia , we have Barramundi which I think are also the same genus as the Akame . Normally , to inhibit the movement of the baitfish , we would snip of the tail portion to simulate a wounded fish . It makes it more believable for the fish to take. Better hookup rates too :) Anyway Gambatte to get your Over 100cm!

Closely related but different species. The genus _Lates_ includes barramundi, akame, and mbuta/nile perch.

Sorry for english comment. Anyone know where this is. Is it private place?
Hi, I am Vincent from Singapore married to a Japanese lady. As my in-laws are Japanese, so we every year go back to Japan to visit them. My father in-law love to fish for barramundi when he is in Singapore and he is looking for fishing spots for similar fish (found Akame!) In Japan. They live in Koga-shi, Ibaraki ken. May I know where is this Akame fishing spot? We would love to travel there to try!
