Those yozuris are quality baits. Great fishing out there. Hard to decide which I liked better the one with the big hump 11:52 or the colorful one with the blues in the tail 13:14. 👍

Those yo-zuri baits work good here also although kind of expensive..... You really got on'em good and look like most of them either followed the bait near the pads or intercepted it there...... I'm guessing the knotted head ones were mail fish? Hekofva catchn trip...... Stay At'um

SK's CRAPPIE Catch Adventures Thank you for watching! The peacock bass fishing in the Everglades has been very good this year. The ones with the big hump on the head were males. Yo-Zuri jerkbaits are my favorite lure for peacock bass and they are worth every penny to me. Peacock bass are strong fish so you need to use lures that are well built with strong hooks. It is cheaper to buy Yo-Zuri jerkbaits than to buy live shiners.

@@Grouperhunter I think I've got 3 or 4 yo-zuri lures from when I saltwater fish..... Trout and reddish love them too......

SK's CRAPPIE Catchn Adventures I use them in saltwater as well for snook, tarpon, jacks, and other fish. They are great lures that are very durable.

What size yozuri are you fishing with?
@Grouperhunter Жыл бұрын
@davidncollins13 Thank you for watching! I like to fish with Yo-Zuri jerkbaits that are between 3 to 6 inches long for peacock bass. The smaller Yo-Zuri jerkbaits are usually the best choice on most days, but there are times the peacock bass prefer the larger sizes. I recommend getting a couple of these lures, they are worth every penny!

First Video (and I’ve searched extensively) of someone like myself who go out and work a lure for 3+lb Ps on a hard bait, rather than those guys who throw a shiner in the hook and say they’re fishing
@Grouperhunter3 жыл бұрын
Barry Howell Thank you for watching! I am happy you enjoyed watching the video. I have caught big peacock bass on both lures and live bait and feel catching them on lures is much more fun. I have more peacock bass fishing videos and will work on making more videos of catching peacock bass on lures.
@barryhowell93 жыл бұрын
@@Grouperhunter you’ve done a great job! I live hittin that spot with a rattle trap or suspending jerk, and outfish the guy next to me throwing shiners (putting $1 on the hook every time he lobs it 2ft and it’s dead) meanwhile I’m twitching, crankin and jerkin the same 1 orb2 lures, and catchin fish! #BigPs 😂😂😂👌
@Grouperhunter3 жыл бұрын
Barry Howell Thank you I am doing my best to make these videos and hope to make more of them. Today I posted a video of me catching barracudas on barracuda tubes. It would of been much easier to catch these barracudas on live bait but it would not be as fun as catching them on lures. I feel artificial lures are far more effective when it comes to catching the most fish in a day. Fishing with artificial lures is a good workout as well which is great for our health.

You ever eat one?
@Grouperhunter Жыл бұрын
@samuelspornhauer1019 Thank you for watching! I prefer releasing all the peacock bass I catch, but many people eat them since they taste good. With that said Oscar cichlids and Mayan cichlids taste better.

@@Grouperhunter Thanks I went for peacock bass twice and was encouraged to always release them. I was wondering because they seem to be plentiful and thought maybe next time to try one.
@Grouperhunter Жыл бұрын
@samuelspornhauer1019 You are welcome and thank you for taking the time to watch my video, I appreciate it. It is best to release peacock bass since it is a gamefish that helps control the population of Oscar cichlids, Mayan cichlids, spotted tilapia, and other exotics. With that said you can keep one next time you fish for them and see if you like them. From my experience they taste better than largemouth bass. Oscar cichlids and Mayan cichlids are one of the best tasting fish in freshwater, so I highly recommend you give them a try.
