They are amazing live! Such an uplifting group...love 'em! Saw them at Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis...best show of the entire weekend. Can't wait to see them again this summer. Check their dates and grab tickets immediately. Sooo worth it. I'm thinking LouFest in St. Louis, but don't want to wait that long...

I was a audio tech for these guys at Beale St. Fest. 2014 Memphis in May. If this podcast was after that then I will explain this to the HATERS! They had been touring relentlessly BEFORE MEMP IN MAY! They were flawless! Also very cool,humble, dn to earth people. I think they sound good on this podcast! Maybe a bit hoarse. It's so dumb to comment on bands like this and say they're "bad singers." Like, that's not the point. If you're looking at this only for the vocals you're not appreciating the music. They're not vocalists... It works for them. And Hannah kicks ass.

Exactly! People don't get into Grouplove to hear cliche pop runs and other nonsense. They are so much fun, great energy, and have a *SOUND* which they manage to reproduce time and again (meaning it's on purpose, they don't "suck"). Personally I think it all meshes perfectly and makes them rock hard.

I'm pretty new to Grouplove, which is a damning indictment on the British music stations who play what a few RCs pay them to every hour on the hour..but I was just being totally random on here letting most of what came on play when these amazing sounding folks played, I was hooked by the first tune. I then played all tracks I could find realising they had an extra special quality that can be pop, rock, west coast hipster vibe almost anything, the more complex chord changes, vocal harmonies meant it was beyond pop, some of the heavy guitar parts make think of the pixies, especially with Hannah there. I'm gonna stop trying to fit them in a category and carry on just loving the upbeat happy sounds of Grouplove...and how cute Hannah looks with her hip dyed red hair and kooky indie girl style!

Her parts always feel tacked on and unnecessary, as well. The main writer is the lead vocalist/guitarist, she contributes almost nothing.

She fully admits she is not a singer and doesn't play an instrument. She's a painter...apparently a very good one, and a genuine artist, with an artist's soul. That's good enough for me for a band like this where she really only needs to harmonize. And she is also Christian's wife and mother of their child, now. They scrapped a bunch of concerns for rest of this year (2016) because they say her vocal cords are strained. Maybe it'll get her to a vocal coach to improve her health and singing, if she hasn't already. She has potential, that's for sure.

I agree, she's not very good, but she isn't faking. She has said publicly that she is not a singer. She's a painter that fell in love with Christian (they have a kid together now). She is decent at harmonizing, but not leading. Hoping she gets some vocal lessons so she can contribute more and also no longer damage her vocal chords.
