The "Switch" version isn't actually the Switch version, it's just the normal Mario 64 with PC mods. The actual Switch version of Mario 64 would be the version included in Super Mario 3D-All Stars.

I think the DS version is the definitive official way to play the game, if you're looking for the definitive unofficial way, try the PC port. Also, the Switch version in 3D All-Stars isn't a remaster. You labelled it wrong, too. That is the PC port with mods to make the game look remastered.

In Mario 64 DS, you can only play as Yoshi in the beginning but there are caps that turn you into different characters. Though his voice is still playing because it's Yoshi. 😅

Dude I think you used the wrong version for Nintendo Switch. The Switch version should come from Super Mario 3D All Stars, which is an HD upscale of the N64 game. Also, I’ve never seen a version of Super Mario 64 with that new model of Mario.
