Excellent job! You're going to live at least 120 years if you keep on doing this.

Now i know why it took me 3 hours, listening to this fit guy breathing so heavily and I'm a smoker that's a little overweight explains why I had to stop many times to catch my breath.

My wife and I (both in our 60s) did the Grind a month ago. It was tough and I was really not prepared for hard it was. We did it in about 90 minutes. Will absolutely be do it again next time in Vancouver.

Nice work. I made three trips to the top, while on vacation last week. I don't have many opportunities to try anything so challenging, here in Florida. The base of the Grind sits three times higher than the tallest point in this state. At 90 minutes, I didn't break any records, but I'm proud I finished it three times. Maybe next year, I can get closer to one hour. Love the rewarding view at the top.

Wow nice work! Very impressive! In my second year university here and just did it yesterday for my third time. Came in at 42:44. Good enough to beat my best by a full 4 mins. Going to set a goal to get a sub 40 next year!

Turning 14 next year. I would love to try this, looks painful and hard though..

It's is very challenging but you just gotta push through it, the first time you go, don't do it for time records do it to evaluate your fitness level. It's an asskicker but, good luck!

How does one get a chip/card? I’m from Missouri, and I’m coming in August to do this and would love to get an “official” chip time.

you make it look so easy. I did it today for the first time and it took 1 hour and 28minutes.. Do you have any tips? I think we took very long because we had fairly sized meal before heading up. Plus we took so many breaks.

first tip: don't take any breaks

Hypothetically... What if someone were to attempt the trail, realize they've WAY overestimated their ability level, and desperately need to turn around? Are there any exits anywhere, or is someone forced to just complete the entire thing? That seems dangerous to me, but maybe I'm missing something.
@glenneleiter17022 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Just turn around and head back down the trail. No problem. Hope you enjoy it one day.

I see many people walking down the trail even though its prohibited. Is it the walk of shame or are they too cheap to pay the $10?
@glenneleiter17025 жыл бұрын
Various reasons. Some people also enjoy hiking down the Grind. Some might find it too difficult.

Really well shot video. I find it strange how I do the grind a few times a week to punish/reward myself and yet here I am being entertained watching someone else do it. Just sayin, you would have had such a better time if there weren't so many people in your way that day. Its frustrating to say the least. I pulled a 39:09 grind once. I'm hoping i can match or beat that this season.

Good for you, Jus so you know, if one looks at Googel maps or any topographical map; the bottom of the Grind/Skyride is 970' (not 900') and the top is 3.600 (not 3,700') making it a total of 2,630. It's not the only Grouse Mountain has wrong re elevation; they give the figure for the bottom of the cut to be 2,750 when it's actually about 2,950; everyone knows the blueberry bowl is the lowest skiable terrain on Grouse and that's 2,850. Also, the top of the peak is about 4,050; NOT 4,100. Having said that, congratulations! I did skyline trail in 26 minutes when I was 19 and that's about 1,620' vertical but have never done the grind in 40. Now it takes me that o do skyline trail.
