My memory of hearing this was in 1982. I just moved to Oakland after being discharged from Air force and was riding in the back seat of a 1982 Buick Park Ave going over the San Francisco bay bridge at night seeing the beautiful lights and awesome view of San Francisco. It made a memory.

I remember meeting this man at a place by the beach called the Strand. I was rude to him at first because I was really angry at my then boyfriend. He brushed it off and bought m table drinks and paid for our dinner. it was my birthday..After his set he came and sat with us and we had a wonderful time.. He told me any man that for got my birthday didn't deserve me. we agreed.. I dumped dude as a gift to myself.. RIP Grover love u.

I have most of Grover's albums and have seen him twice in concert. Both times, I saw him I experienced unforgettable and supreme joy. He gives 110% to his fans. When it comes to tender, light, emotion-filled expression he is second to none. There might be a couple others Jazz giants who are more technically superior, but he's number ONE in touching the listener by bringing to life the beauty we know in our minds but so seldom hear or feel.

Here in England in the 80s I fell in love with another man. I played this track endlessly, which makes it a bitter-sweet reminder now. Ultimately we got together and then I lost him to young-onset Alzheimer's. Music has such power. When I play this we're still around.

I can remember over the years many people having negative things to say about Grover's music- but one thing about it, his was outstanding then and it is great now, without a doubt. My wife and I have enjoyed seeing Grover and the Fellas a many a time, but one the most treasured was at Villa Montalvo with some great friends-four couples drove up from Los Angeles to enjoy a jazz filled weekend. Long live the music of Grover Washington and the Fellas.

Love hearing this music missing so much he had some of the best chance I got the meeting in person at the Fox theater in Detroit he's truly been missed happen to be working backstage at the fox in Detroit Michigan that we have to protect the stage and the equipment along with George Duke and Stanley Clarke TECO mansui it was a host of jazz artist that you can never forget I mean it was just down to earth when they told me it passed it was so sad like Sade another good jazz artist people just don't understand working at the Fox theater in Detroit behind the scenes were amazing and then watch them go on stage and perform was even more amazing the light that I had and understand at the artist was just working to make ends meet it Tiffany was in jazz to sit back and talk to George Duke and always wonder how come you only have one guess he said man I'm just waiting on my niece that's the only guess I got so every time he came we would always sit down and talk and laugh until this niece showed up and I will go down and get her and bring her back up to the dressing room I truly miss those days I never thought that I would ever meet people like that in my lifetime God is truly a blessed me like in the picture you see me with Hitman hearns personal bodyguard I use that picture to let people know that I really was walking with celebrities almost every day every other day I'm truly blessed to give my story and still walk when Hitman but as a personal friend my journey has been amazing and I thank God everyday people don't understand the struggle but they understand the world and his struggles but to meet the artist from behind the scenes is totally different when they on stage and they have a family that they try to feed God is truly blessed a lot of people that I have the pleasure of being around especially jazz artists I have more fun around jazz artist and I never had around r&b artist or gospel artists and the blues artist was a total different another story when they say the blues that's exactly what they mean it's the blues like BB King Bobby Blue band so other lot of other different jazz artists nowadays they got to put 10 or 15 of them together just to get along concert to fill the Halls the last artist I was with was tevin Campbell he's starting to blow up he's the only one I know that can still feel the stadium and don't need a bunch of artists with him everybody is singing his song everywhere I'm just I haven't seen him in concert yet but I know it's coming
