I have an Amaryllis that would not flower. It was in a big pot of soil. The stalks would grow but no flower. Then, the stalks would not grow so I pulled it, cleaned it up and put it in a tall glass with water only in the kitchen window and the stalks are growing! Will they flower in the water or will I need to convert it to soil? Do I need to fertilize at all?

It's better to move it to soil since the plant will get much richer nutrients. After one month you may give fertilizer but in a small amount, means not to much. Thank you for sharing

Hola!he batallado con mis amarilis el año pasado florearon en la primavera y a fin de año las cochinillas y gorgojos se empezaron a comer los bulbos las saque les puse canela y volví a plantar pero este año no florearon y unos bulbos les salieron hojas y de repente se secaron que me recomiendan ?

When I purchased mine, it was in a glass jar with rocks on the bottom and filled with water to half the height of the bulb. Not knowing any better, I left it in this environment. It bloomed the first 3 years but now it only grows green leaves at 5 years old. I transferred it into soil today. Hopefully it'll bloom once again.
