Hello friend! The cylinder is a Smart Indoor Air Quality Monitor. You can read more about it here: shop.netatmo.com/en-eu/aircare/home-coach/homecoach We use it to measure humidity and temperature. You can link it up to a smart plug so that the air humidifier turns on when the humidity is low....and the fan on if temperature is high.
