I grew my hair from a bob to hip length in 2 years and my two tips are DO NOT COMB OR BRUSH MY HAIR WHEN WET. like not at all, i let it air dry for about 30 minutes and then detangle. 2nd Just leaving it alone. Whether it be leaving it in a protective style or just dont touch up that often (instead just do any heartless styles if its looking crappy)

I have been natural my entire life, and because my curls are veeeeery fine, my family never tried to relax my hair like they did with my cousins. But I still flat ironed my hair during highschool years, definitely did a lot of damage because I flat ironed my wet hair! Years after I stopped and kept it completely natural for years. I also never cut the heat damage and my curls came back eventually. Anyway while I like the curls I have to wet my hair a bit daily and re apply product (either leave in or gel) because my hair absorbs all the products. If I dont I get frizzy. So I have to manipulate my hair every morning. Then have to wash once a week because of the amount of products i have to use daily. When I straighten my hair, it only takes time on wash day but after that I can go a week and a half to two weeks without washing it, and dont have to get my hair wet in the morning. And the only products I have to reapply are my oils or serums. Don't have to manipulate my hair much at all. So yeah definitely much more gentle! I wrap my hair at night, or sleep on a low bun and put on a silk or satin cap. I have decided that, if done correctly, I can heat style and retain my length! Plus olaplex helps me too xd

Girl you are a genius! I use coconut oil so much, yet i never tried it on my hair :o I have exactly the same problem, curly hair ...*sigh* my hair ends are so dry and i guess damaged as well and they don't pass that certain lenght...although i tried to not blow dry it nor straighten it for few years now, so idk why this is happening. I'm just leaving it as it is and use some products to style it...nor do i wash it that much cuz they are dry as hell , they can be like this over a week or more and no one could even tell..i guess that too dry hair plus the friction on t-shirt breaks the ends too.. Damn I'm alrdy excited to try your tips OMG! I agree with those comments bellow your vids should be way up higher took me few clicks to get here but glad I'm here ❤

I've been thinking about wearing my hair straight more often because I'm loving the results. What I've been doing is letting my hair air-dry then blow dry like you do then flat iron. My hair last pretty long but if I need a tough up, ill just flat iron gently some pieces on Sunday for the week. Do you think uts too much to touch up once a week to freshen it up? I can probably get away with just doing the blow dry wash day once a month.
@CoraliesCloset
@CoraliesCloset 3 жыл бұрын
Great! I’m glad you’re loving your results🙌🏽 it all depends what works for your hair and if you’re prepared for any negative effects it could have on your curls/hair. I personally don’t touch up regularly only if I really need to which doesn’t happen often and sometimes between washes I want curls so I add those in. I try not to do more heat than that

My hair grows faster the more often I semi wash it. Shampoo only to get products and dirt out and use a light conditioner or protein conditioner when I decide to wet it especially in the hot months when my scalp will be steaming. I'm Caribbean and gets headaches and migraines almost everyday from June to August so I need the thorough cool down. And I can't moisturize too well cause it gets in my pores and causes breakouts which I hate that only started last year I rarely broke out in my teens and I'm breaking out more in my 30's 😢

Hi Felissa! You are so welcome! Thanks so much for watching 🖤 I totally relate to that. When I work out sweat reverts my hair and just makes oil build quicker. I try to extend it by using dry shampoo and when I workout I try to sleek my hair down to keep it flat & prevent the sweat from going beyond my roots. Otherwise I would recommend doing more protective styles. Hope that helps 🖤

Just today I noticed after straightening that my hair have short and erected strands in certain sections and I freaked out It was breakage and my first time experience with it I couldn't make a puff and that's all what I can use as a dude 😭 I wash my hair every Friday and straighten it just once a weak Even then my hair got damaged I'm so worried like I have uneven hair and it just looks so ugly 😭 What should I do! I loved ur advise tho I'll try acting on it meanwhile

Try straightening less often than once a week. If you have to wash do the following with a protective style. Don’t manipulate you hair too much and make sure when you’re styling you aren’t making things too tight and too often

I know it is a old video but wtv 😅 I have been the same lenght for a decade lol I swear (4c type). I heard coconut 🥥 oil makes your scalp dry so I always been scared to try but I will give it a go. My hair get tangled up really easily and they are really dry (painful to comb or brush) 😭 so I can’t leave without relaxing them (only twice a year tho). Anyways... Great vid, really informative 👌🏾Learned a few things about stuff I shouldn’t do🤦🏾‍♀️ Now lemme see if I can get the Coralenght 🤣

That’s ok I still read the comments! Yes I’ve heard that as well but I’ve never had any issue with it myself. If you have a sensitive scalp just try applying only to the length and ends of your hair to help get those knots out. Loool love it #corallenght. Thank so much for watching 🖤🖤

I also have 4c type hair and found that it grew past my shoulders when I started going to a Dominican salon every 2 weeks for deep conditioning and roller sets. The only heat used was to blow out my new growth. I wouldn’t use heat in between salon visits and would relax my hAir every 3 months.

Nyeema Johnson Last time I went to a dominican salon I had the worst time ever. Came in the morning and the hairdresser had the whole city doing their hair while I was waiting for my hair to be done. Unfortunately I don’t know many dominican salon in my city, I will have to go outside to find a good one.

Hi Coralie! I subbed to your channel and wanted to ask how many strands of breakage do you notice or usually get whenever you comb or brush?
@CoraliesCloset
@CoraliesCloset 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Corinne! Thanks so much, I really appreciate it! I couldn’t say an exact number but it’s not very much unless my hair is tangled. When I do another hair video and it’s relevant I’ll try to show the breakage if that helps.

@candacew5243 4 жыл бұрын
@@CoraliesCloset Sure! I straighten my natural hair once a month and get no more than 4,5 strands of breakage. If you could maybe observe the strands in a 1-3 days combing session that would help :-)
