I have been a United fan for the last 21 years. Today, was the saddest day of my life. It was not because of the performance of the team, not about playing the so called "Tony Pulis Football", but what our manager Jose Mourinho said about United in the post match press conference. The guy instead of being embarrassed about his team's performance , is full of himself, saying that "United are used to being knocked out in the champions league". To be fair, Fellaini played an important part in last year's Europe Cup Final, which got United into the CL! The goals didn't come while Fellaini was on the field, so seems quite harsh on him. McTominay was probably fatigued after the L'pool game, but my question is, what was Pogba doing? Wasn't it his pass that led to the turnover that Sevilla scored off of? LFC man here. Nope, no trolling, and you deservedly beat us the other day (despite some dodgy calls), tactically we were inferior. Anyhow, we do share something rather intimate. We both know how it feels to be well beaten or had frustrating results against this, so-called "weaker side." Sevilla, seem to have developed a game plan which unsettles bigger teams. I can't quite figure out what it is they're doing so well. My only conclusions are while they lack the overall quality, for a league campaign they are proving a very good knock-out tournament team. The players all know their on-field roles and they can change their tactics very, very, quickly. I guess the final ingredient is a great team culture. It's the whole, "everyone's against us," mentality. Liverpool and United spend far to much time posturing about how big a club's we are. Sevilla, have made both of us with our massive transfer budgets look like the tossers' we pretend we aren't.

I think Pogba was on the bench despite being injured still, just in case we went behind and needed a world class player to find a key pass. But when he came on he looked like he was unable to make a driving run because he knew he wasn't fit. Mourinho is a temporary fix. He may fix the squad. But he is not the person who can restore Man Utd back to old days, style, success. Club should gamble on Giggs (like Zidane with Real). The thing is, for a manager you need to have a very intelligent footballing brain, but you need to be humble, impartial, fluid, ruthless. Zidane did mistakes in earlier games of the season but he learnt from them and did a tactical masterclass against PSG. Giggs I believe could emulate what Zidane is doing for Real. Compared that to Mou, he is too overconfident and cocky (his comments earlier), very partial for few players and his tactics are opposite of fluid. He may do tactical job now and then on teams like Liverpool but his team will get defeated by good footballing sides. Forget about competing with the likes of Real, Bayern.

This is what happen when you play defensive park-the-bus football. When the time comes you have no clue on how to attack teams. Sometimes you will get lucky in beating Chelsea and Liverpool but it will come back to bite you....because negative football does not win all the time. You can get lucky at times and using the percentage football you can win once in a while but the true great teams always play good attacking football. Mourinho is not a Man United manager.
