Will the plants stay small if you keep the pots they grow in small?
@Just4Growers Жыл бұрын
Certainly, restricting the pot size will restrict the overall root development and this will ultimately delimit the size (or rather, productivity) of your plants. If you are growing photoperiodic flowering species, I recommend adjusting the lights on time to induce flowering when plants are relatively small-you may be surprised how much they continue to grow during transition into flowering (generative production). If your pot size is overly restrictive, your plants will inevitably become drought stressed-and if you are using fertilizers, it's very easy for the EC of your media to rise to toxic levels. Be generous to your plants and give them the space they need to grow. Best of luck with your garden.

Hi Everett, Great video! My available space is rectangle 4’x2’. I’m growing house plants. No wait, really. Some are tropical but my apartment is drafty and cold during the winter. The plants are photographed a lot so ideally they will stay healthy year round. I noticed the premium tents you recommend are all square or near square. Do you recommend any rectangle manufacturers/ models. I’ve been looking at Gorilla but wonder if there are a lot features I don’t need there. Leakage will annoy me but I think the plants would be fine. Any suggestions or additional guidance would be helpful! Thank you.

@BRIANPOWER19777 жыл бұрын
Guys, you can always change the speed and turn on subtitles. That will make it much easier to digest. But dude, please ignore the guys complaining about the speed. I've seen too many 6 min videos that should be 45 seconds max ,like "down load this app and run it using the default settings, click x to confirm it worked", instead its a 2 min intro, irrelevant personal information(yeah I care about your awesome new microphone), and a painfully slow and detailed explanation that feels like a director stretching a thin plot. I think you have a great style. Just wish I could see you grow some plants with a bit more medicinal value.

i have built plywood platforms by just cutting 3/4' plywood to the footprint of the tent and screw a 1"-4" to the edge of the plywood so it stands 1.5" PROUD OVER THE PLYWOOD I THEN PUT SWIVEL CASTER WHEELS on the bottom of this platform so i can move the grow tent with ease even with lights ,extraction ,filter, plants all in it this gives me FULL ACCESS to the tent and it also lets me NEST THE TENTS FILLING THE GROW ROOM

@Just4Growers7 жыл бұрын
+Indiana Diy Thanks amigo. Are those room dimensions or the space you have available in a larger room? In any case I'd double check your measurements (just to be sure) as you maybe could fit a Sun Hut Blackout 410 - 7.9 ft x 7.9 ft x 6.6 ft in that space. The Sun Hut Blackout 200 is half the volume at 7.9 ft x 3.9 ft x 6.6 ft
@IndianaDiy7 жыл бұрын
Everest Fernandez Yeah that's the space a available in my basement. I was trying to to leave some room for walking and Duct work for tent. I might need to get one that about 6-6.5ft tall for ventilation. But I like the Sun-Hut blackout. Thanks for the info I was basically look at same two but it helps to get that second opinion.

Hello Everest. Thanks for the wealth of knowledge in your videos! They've been extremely helpful. I had a quick question about nutrients ppm's for outdoor flower gardens. I use General Hydroponics Flora Duo for my indoor hydro veggies. I'm guessing I can use the same for my wife's flower garden, right? I can't seem to find any information online about what ppm's the solution should be from growing flowers. Please advise if you can. Thanks!
@Just4Growers7 жыл бұрын
+Larry Lester Thanks for your kind words. Hydroponic tulip growers aim for an EC of 1.2 to 1.5 mS/cm2 or 600 to 750 PPM using the x0.5 scale. In soil I would start out with half that amount (300 to 375 PPM).

+Hunting Phenos Sorry to hear about your collapse HP. Air cooled hoods and carbon filters can definitely pull down on a tent frame. A central pole/s for larger tents is a good idea. If you only have 1 or 2 plants its best to buy the smaller types like 48x24x60. iT MAKES EVERY POSSIBLE ISSUE OF MAX CONTROL TO AVOID AND STAY ON TOP OF THINGS. bigger THE TENT, THE MORE YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH WHEN ISSUES COME UP, like RH control, air flow, dew points, bugs and nats, temp control ect ect ect. Knowing this I plan on just getting another tent of same size as Im gonna buy another light fixture anyways once I start growing up to multiple plants....

I hope anyone here can help me, I have extreme problems with mold. It looks like normal white mold and it is everywhere, on my regular soil, on rockwool in hydro and on roots not soaked entirely in hydroponic solution. It is not harmless, it killed few plants already. I'm curing it with hydrogen peroxide but it only helps temporarily. Does anyone know what to do with it?

@jdlitson7 жыл бұрын
+nevim neresim, You may need better air flow. I would do the following to prevent the problem in the future. Add a small fan so that it gently blows over your plants. Add an air filter, and run it even if you are not trying to prevent smell. This will help remove mold spors, and keep your area clean. You may also need an AC or dehumidifier. I use a small portable room AC myself. It helps keep things cool, and removes excess humidity. I do all of the things mentioned, and do not get mold. Knock on wood ;-)

good straightforward video. Would like to have heard you mention off-gassing
@Just4Growers7 жыл бұрын
+pfalconology thanks amigo. I vaguely alluded to it by saying "American growers prefer silver lined tents" as some of the first white-lined tents in the US were made with low grade PVC which off-gassed. This is unfortunate because some folks made the false association between white lined tents and off-gassing whereas in reality the problem was peculiar to one (now defunct) brand. I have seen PAR tests performed between white and silver lined tents and the white came out on top for reflectivity. Again, I didn't mention this in the vid because I did not want to make broad brush statements about "silver tents" - better to perform a test myself on two distinct models / brands.
