Great information, I wondered why my bulbs weren't sprouting as quick as other flower corms

Hello, thanks for teaching us. I am in zone 5B here in Canada and got oriental hybrid bulbs . It’s late February and I am thinking of getting the bulbs in pots to be placed near a window inside. Do you think it’s a bit too early to do so ? Iam just worried that keeping bulbs not planted might rot them . Should I place them in my cold room rather for few weeks until Mid March ?

Hello, thank you. Yes you can pot up your lily bulbs right now. They don't need to be by the window until later. Just pot them up and place them at room temperature.

You are welcome. Sorry I forgot to mention that they need to be in indirect light and room temperature until they sprout.

@HostaandLilyGarden hi there, A quick follow up question, I planted bulbs 5 days ago and watered that day. I watered my pots yesterday evening thoroughly until I got the top layer fully moist. Today morning I saw the tray beneath my pots full of water drained out of my pots. Did I overwatered my lily bulbs? I’ll now halt watering it for few days until the soil becomes dry. Any advise will be highly appreciated.

What do you do after they bloom and died? I cut mine and now they haven’t grown back

You cut the blooms and then plant them in your garden. They usually die back and will bloom again the following year after a cold period.
