Growatt Interface. How I use the Growatt Wifi website to help me save money.

How I use the Growatt wifi adapter to optimize my solar production throughout the day when I am not home. This helps me to save money and burn less propane. It's basically a remote manual smart load.

Excellent video I’m using it to educate my Dad who lives 1800 miles away from me. I traveled down to his place in New Mexico and installed a Growatt 12KW system for his whole house and now he is completely off grid. But h struggles with operation and maintenance your videos and FaceTime are invaluable. Thanks again for your very clear and understandable video.

Great idea and thanks for your video's. I started using those a little over a year ago on my home system's. Another excellent idea when you've actually moved into your house is to install a Heat pump water heater on a similar 240vac Wi-Fi switch which is a super solar friendly setup. I've got most of my home setup with those devices and it works amazingly well.

You can use that extra power to do crypto mining It keeps you warm and making money at the same time. By the way thanks for the Wi-Fi video It help a lot

I did look into the crypto mining, but I think I will save more money by running heaters and saving $ money on propane which is close to $4 a gallon than I could make with a crypto mining system. I am really happy that the wifi video helped.

great video, but you can make it much better by turning on and off your smart outlet automatically when you have excess solar production.

@@pawneeoffgrid2614 I would like to know as well if it's already done. Otherwise being a programmer I do have an idea. I have me a Growatt on order from Watts 24/7. The Raspberry Pi is able to turn smart switches/plugs automatically. It should be possible to write a script to log the Pi into the growatt and watch the battery voltage. From there you could set voltage thresholds to launch scripts. Battery full turn on switch to AC. Battery drops to a specific voltage turn off switch, etc. Thresholds scripts could be put on PV voltage as well. If I figure it out I'll post a how-too vid for anyone who wants to automate their growatt.

Excellent idea, I have a question, I need to connect my wife to the Shine WiFi so that when am not around she can be able to view the system, how do I go about it

On her smart phone - just use your login ID and password and she can log in.

Curious why you went with that brand vs wimo or Alexa or Google etc.

Not sure I have a good answer for that. I am not a fan Alexa or Google because I don't think they are doing a good job and honoring peoples privacy. I am not a conspiracy guy but my friend has Alexa and it's just too coincidental that we have private conversations about things then BOOM. Here are adds about what we were discussing.

I run 2 5k inverters in parallel I'm guessing I just need 1 wifi stick?

I am running the same setup now, and yes just one Wifi adapter is all you will need.

Why wouldn't you just leave the electric heater on. see how long you can run the heater maybe 24 hrs a day or maybe just 20 hours. I have a 400 watt in my rv with a temp sensor plug. even my nature's generator with 2 extra agm batteries run all day/night with 600 watt solar panels( yeah bought it before know what I know now, would not buy again). I have in my house 60kw of batteries and I get 5-7.7KW of solar per hour into 2 inverters. I do not have my loads installed yet but am working on it 1 circuit at a time since I have a new off grid panel and other is on grid. I am already loving solar and if all goes well no power bill next year.

It would get pretty hot in my camper if I ran it all the time. And I was really learning about the system and capacity at the time.
