Hi. I was always told never to cut into old wood on lavender plants as it doesn't regenerate new growth from old wood???

I heard the same thing but ive also seen lots of people doing this drastic pruning. tried it on my french lavender and it seems to be slowly regenerating. maybe it has to do with varieties? wont know until you try anyhow
