Mine started producing this June. I inoculated in February. Thank you for sharing. Mushroom wonderland all the way! If only I could find more woodchips...

Very cool! I've never had a wine cap before. They look delicious.

The color on the caps under the buckets (and the ones after the rain) was so intense. Nice to see that deep wine color. I liked seeing that frilly edged one too @7:30. You don't get to see that nice edge that much. And those grilled caps looked great!

Thanks man. The sun and weather can make the caps turn tanish. Also other likely symbiosis going on.

I love finding them in random places in my yard. Under strawberries, asparagus and even my daughter’s slide.

Awesome Wine caps , every time you picked one I was like dam I’d love to cut up the stipe and make some mycelium on cardboard , I get a kick out of that , the Chinese food containers is what I use , did well with oyster mushies but would love to do some wine caps , definitely going to share the mycelium around my yard as well . 👍

Great video man, about to start growing my own wine caps and this was helpful. Vegan love

Thanks M P! They’re a fun and easy mushroom to grow. I have a lot of mycelium in my yard from what I inoculated last year and can’t wait to see what pops up this year. I will definitely be posting about it: Stay healthy.

Heads up: it is not recommended to eat these more than 3 days in a row. I think it may cause stomach upset in some people. Would love to see that vegan mushroom sausage recipe!

Thanks Max. I’ve heard that before so I definitely try not overdo it with them. They’re really fun to grow, I’ll probably harvest them more often at the baby stage going forward. Stay healthy!

What happens to them when they get soaked?
@LucasBuysFood3 жыл бұрын
I’m less worried about them getting wet these days and don’t bother covering them. They just absorb some more water that can be cooked out of the mushrooms with a dry sauté.

@@LucasBuysFood Got it. Do you ever get stomach aches from them? I made my mushroom patch last night.
@LucasBuysFood3 жыл бұрын
@@andreahorsch286 No, I haven't. But, I've read that you shouldn't eat them 3 days in a row from a Paul Stamets book. Not sure if that's totally true but I don't do it.
