It looks like it was just in a bowl with soil, meaning it wasn't draining and getting new water from time to time. I might be wrong though.

Georg Ragaz how long does it take to actually grow??? And can you do a bean growing one in time lapse but the beans are in water???
@GeorgRagaz7 жыл бұрын
It takes 1-2 weeks. I don't think they grow in water. Frist of all water won't give them the stability they need and due to lack of oxygen they will die early.

MARCELLINO GUARNERO That could be the case, which is why sterile soil is recommended for sprouting. It could also be the high amount of moisture, beans don't like heavy or frequent watering. It's important to keep the plant itself dry and only water underneath its lowest leaves if the top two inches of soil are dry.
@organicgrow44407 жыл бұрын
I think it was the water, usually when you plant seeds mainly broadbeans you just give it a good watering when sowing then let them come up. once they germinate under soil then you give more water, it was different in this case as it was for show.

"...Do you not see how We have created every variety of plant and growing thing on the earth, beautiful and of every colour, and how We have made beautiful every part of it with them. And do you not see how we send down bounteous rain from the skies, and with it create gardens and orchards, and grains, and tall, fruit-bearing trees like the delicious date, and how I cause them to grow and send My servants sustenance with them? And do you not see that I raise to life the dead country with the rain? I create thousands of worldly resurrections. Just as I raise up with My power these plants out of this dead country, that is how your coming-forth will be at the resurrection. At the resurrection, the earth will die and you will come forth alive." Words, by Said Nursi - 445(from Qur'an, 50:6-11.)

As you see in the video, if a seed is growing mold (white or other color) fuzzy stuff on it, either throw it away or wash it off, don't let it sit there and grow more and more mold. Correct this as quickly as possible to minimize the spreading of mold, which can kill seedlings (called damping off "a plant disease occurring in excessively damp conditions, in particular the collapse and death of young seedlings as a result of a fungal infection."). If you use paper towels, throw the paper towels away and use new paper towels whenever mold shows up.

It's nicer if you put them on top of the soil. Just ensure there is enough but not too much moisture. You may want to put them in water for one night beforehand. You must cound about a week for the growth.

Are these still good to grow out in your garden to eat considering there was mold on the soil and other seeds or would you be transfering mold into your garden and eating some kind of spores? The part at 2:38, if these are climbing beans, could be that it is looking for a trellis to climb up and support itself just seems kinda weired and early for it to be doing so though considering it hasent produced its leaves yet. I know peas swing their tendrills about looking for something to lasso onto.

Its naive to think I can change your belief or you can change mine. Its not that I believe in science, I am a scientist. I hear things or see things, I dont just accept it, I question it and each question is never truely answered, just more questions. So what I know, I know because I go out of my way to find out, rather than simply accepting what I am told. You take comfort from your world view, I take comfort in mine. All living things - we come from the earth and to it we shall return
@blagolishche12 жыл бұрын
Of course everything lives, everything dies, life stays dynamic. But there is a very important part in between - reproduction. If something dies before it reproduces, its genes die with it, but those that do reproduce pass on their genes... and so the strong survive. Thats why things are the way they are, not because they were created like that but because they survived like that better than the rest.
@bocskai9812 жыл бұрын
1. Great video. 2. Question: when do they get too tall and need support? Can my bean survive in my room with usual lighting conditions (no nearby bulbs nor fluorescent tubes)? 3. Most people suppose plants are still or they move mechanically but we can clearly see in the video that one of them is trying to get rid of the "cover" surrounding its leaves.

Why do people come on here to argue their beliefs. Your all entitled to believe what you want. Stop growling at eachother and hurling insults. Who cares, believe whatever you will. God, Science, Evolution.....blah blah blah, go to a different forum for those discussions. This is about sprouting beans. Anything to say about that?

Its not any craziness. Its just Epigeal Germination. Its when the cotyledon comes out with the shoot. The weird movement is just the instability caused due to the cotyledon being present at the tip of the stem. Good day.
