I just got a meyer lemon tree and a thornless blackberry plant. They will probably take a while to produce, but I'm excited to branch out into blueberries and raspberries as well. I enjoyed the video and appreciate the information

I have one triple crown blackberry plant in a 20 gallon grow bag. I wrap a frost blanket around the grow bag to help keep the roots warm during winter. I will also wrap the trellis with two more frost blankets that the canes are set on as well. It's my first winter with it so I'm hoping the frost blanket does the job.

Just purchased six blackberry plants on clearance, in the process of potting them up into 20 gal grow bags and placing them onto a weed mat. I can't get Berry Tone but have Holly Tone in large bags, normally I use Vigoro Citrus/Avocado fertilizer because it has the trace minerals and its a slow release synthetic. Bought a nice book on growing berries because I put in strawberries, blueberries and a variety of fruit trees in zone 6B. Anticipating a bounty of tasty berries as the plants grow.

@@auyannaplants TY, I'm really trying to make something of our 1 acre lot in addition to a large vegetable garden. The fruit and berries are a long term investment vs chopping down weeds.

If you allow one of your canes to longer and you bury the tip nn a pot with dirt it will start a new plant. Just clip it away from the parent plant once you notice the new one has enough roots to sustain it self.

How do you prune them for winter when they are 1st year plants that never fruited ?

I did not prune them at all the first year. It states that you don't have to prune them but I noticed that once I started pruning the plant got bushier and had more berries. I hope this helps and thank you so much for watching!

We get a light harvest in the fall. Although the package states you don't have to prune I still prune off any dead or crossing branches. We have a good layer of mulch on them. In early spring we feed with berry tone and the process starts again with delicious berries. Hope this helps and thank you so much for watching.

I did not prune them for the first 2 seasons but found they were growing tall and I had to stake them but once I starting pruning they take on a bushy form. Hope this helps and thank you for watching!

I am also growing my blackberries in containers but not had berries yet. This will be the second year so hoping it is producing. I recently propagated 9 new plants via tip layering and videos the results. Again I hope these take and come on in the Spring. Mine are also a thornless variety so I will keep a close look. Great video! We actually bought one of these that came in a 2 gallon container and planted it in a 15 gallon grow bag. Do you know how many gallons your pots are? I now feel I should have planted it in a bigger Pot/Bag.

I use potting soil for all of my containers. I like Promix however some gardeners have said they don't so it depends on your environment. We are in the south and the soil stays moist which I like. I try different types but as long as it's a potting soil you should be good. Thank you so much for watching!

I have a very young blackberry plant in a pot but is drying out and leaves are turning brown (dying). I trying to save it. It is in full sun and given water every morning. What else can I do? Arizona is HOT. Can I use fertilizer by Dr. Earth Natural Wonder 5-5-2? I couldn’t find the Berry-tone.

How big the container? Is the soil dry to the touch when you water. I know alot of the plants say full sun but it may benefit from a little shade as well. Alot of our plants go through it during the heat of the summer because it is so hot and humid. I have used Dr. Earth products and I am pleased with them as well. I hope some of this helps you to save your plants

Yes the leaves did drop for us during dormancy. I love growing this plant it has been great in the garden.
