I love this setup! People are sleeping on the parabolic reflectors which are much more efficient than the alternative xxx hoods to get the most footprint per light and they still get about the same amount of light penetration as an adjust a wing. I’ve used them all for many years and I’m back to parabolic hoods for veg and I use combo hoods and ballasts for bloom; 400MH on one side and a 600HPS on the other in one hood. Blows a Gavita away, better spectrum and just as much penetration with small directional reflectors. 💯👌🔥✌️

@@sweetness6048 Alaska's famous "Matanuska Thunderfuck" came from waay north of B.C., near Anchorage. Matanuska valley grows enormous table crops also, due to extremely long summer days, so supplemental lighting would be the only choice in winter. But the damage to wild salmon isn't worth the hydroelectric dams to generate all that cheap power. Some areas aren't meant to grow whatever we arrogantly decide to grow. Arbitrary laws and artificial dams are the ONLY reason BC was ever considered for year-round grows. Broader choices and silted up impoundments will inevitably render large indoor grows under artificial lights uncompetitive. In the long run there's way more value in removing dams to let the salmon runs return. Cannabis can grow well enough up there 2/3 of the year in greenhouses, uncovered all summer. There's enough light there to get a sunburn. And less call for air conditioning due to overheating, the main problem within greenhouses.

Robotweed. What a colossal waste of energy. If it weren't for salmon-destroying PNW hydro dams this kind of growing would not be cost effective. Looking forward to the day when prices drop to the point where more efficient greenhouse tunnel sungrow w blackout covers take the place of all this tech fetishism.. with farmers of true sophistication using solar-driven pumps and fans, rainwater harvest, ecological pest control, companion plants and crop rotations, in authentic, dank, myceliated, biochar soil compost.
@Andgrey

What are some good companion plants and why?
@davidgough3512
@davidgough3512 4 жыл бұрын
@@Andgrey legumes (like clover) fix nitrogen in the soil, some aromatic herbs repel pest insects and others attract friendly predator insects. Deep rooted plants can pull up nutrients. Fungi hugely increase soil fertility. All supply biomass and feed the soil biology as they break down. More variety in a garden makes less of a target for predator bugs than a singular monoculture.

What an enormous waste of power and resources. Vegging plants that size only to prune half of them off. 15 gallon pots for a non nutritive mix? Thats utterly useless. In an operation this size you can see what a huge amount of electricity and nutrients are used and wasted to veg plants only to cut and prune off material. This looks like someone had some success with a smaller grow room and just wanted to build exactly the same thing as big as possible with his weed money
