🇯🇲 Bravo 👏🏽 from Jamaica. Your community is beautiful and an awesome way to reduce one’s global footprint especially now in the face of Climate change! Having lived life in rural Jamaica, I imagine there may be challenges. However, you’re blessed with the resources, exceptional and dedicated workers, unison and support between Selina and her hubby, and Selina’s calm, wise presence. Wishing you much success, joy and happiness in your family life and with your lovely eco-friendly estate💜

My concern is now and going forward, many areas will become semi-arid regions with reduced rainfall/precipitation or even more detrimental, greater seasonal variations. What is worse? An area that gradually changes to less and less precipitation, allowing for the change of soil and water management with innovative use of mulch and plant and crop species being selected for the drier climate? Or, a region that experiences more extreme variation annually, worse dry times that have a longer duration and then intense periods of precipitation, with shorter rain or snow seasons that have very large but quick accumulations of water? I am worried that the latter case will become more prevalent in larger regions of the temperate climate regions. That may necessitate the construction and expansion of land contour features like swales and ponds and other catchments, even micro-damming small dry streambeds to mimic the "beaver" restoration of local wetlands. Water is still here on Earth, but it's distribution and frequency is becoming a lot more erratic.
