Cleveland has a severe lack of resources and funding. In the past many leaders opted to bus the homeless to warmer climate cities which served to reduce the homeless population as well as get people out of the cold. My heart goes out to the less fortunate but I can also understand the frustration of those living in the areas that have also been dealing with the growing crime often found near the encampments. Their is no simple solution, no quick fix or resolution. The problems faced by dealing with the root cause of many people becoming homeless alongside the increasing volume is insurmountable for current city funding and resources. One suggestion would be to provide a camp area away from residence and businesses that would provided sanitation such as restrooms and trash disposal but this has not worked out for most cities that have attempted it in the past, especially those with largely strained services.

They should be getting money and assistance from the city they are in first and foremost since that’s where the homeless problem is. Don’t shift the blame from those in charge of the cities that are helping cause this problem building up. If there’s such a problem because of the red states why is it only in the blue cities we have all these problems and not throughout the entire state? You also can’t just go based off of income because a lot of these “poorer” areas have a much lower cost of living which means they can be better off than other areas with a much higher cost of living that also make more. Yes it’s a people problem, the people in charge who constantly say they can fix the problem but never do because then they have nothing to campaign on to win. Severely epileptic, adorably assertive geriatric calico Siamese mix cat who has been old enough to vote for a while now. My friend has severe Generalized Anxiety Disorder and was severely abused as a child and teenager are his very firing brimstone fundamentalist mother who used all manner of sadistic behavior and physical violence trying to make him not be gay. He has been on SSCI his entire life but lost the apartment he'd lived in since 1998 when the owner passed away and the son who inherited the beautiful historical building decided the three-story seven unit was long overdue for overhaul and updates. The for a couple of years before he died and really did not raise the rent for my friend and four of the units were occupied by tenants. This guy has a husband since 2015 however that has been comes from a family of very very homophone with me inclined Italian immigrants. He's been in the closet waiting for his elderly parents to die before he can live authentically with my cat loving friend in the open. He was given very little notice to vacate and did not find a place in time. He and his pets have been living in an extended stay out in Avon for nearly a year and a half. I visited and he had Floor to ceiling height stacks of his belongings because he couldn't really afford a storage space. And his cat and dog scratching around stinking of old animals crappy hotel. Pooping intermittently. Fighting. I feel terrible because I was imagining this situation but with four times as many paws and poops. Plus a husband and a cousin who lives with us. What if I did not find anywhere? How long would I be living in my own potential limbo any outer suburb area that is impossible to navigate without a car and my car was the thing that went right at the last moment when we needed to move. Because I hit a deer. Much of my livelihood involves deliveries and rideshare driving so I was screwed deeply as up pizza deeps its dish. I was screwed. For a few moments picturing my army of felines. Having to take my disabled post-stroke future corpse of a body walking to get food if it was out of my budget to have something sent to extended stay America so I can eat. I just pictured it it was horrible and I was screwed in that I couldn't do anything about the car. I'm not going to borrow my kids cars. I was horrified that I'd be in stinkyoop River. Luckily I was accepted to the townhouse I applied for a month earlier or more. But I was starting to panic. It's really that close how many of us are only a couple of catastrophic and (not s even super catastrophic until they line up for the perfect storm of dominoes catastrophe sitting off a series of unfortunate events... So many of us Really are so very close by a paycheck or two to being without a home. It's happened to a friend of mine another state who I attended college with. She With the music journalist background and her success as A&R in Nashville working with Toby Keith, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw. Better marriage fell apart after the loss their young daughter. She began drinking heavily and quit taking her medications for bipolar regularly. She's not want to tell her parents how bad things had gotten but was facing natural homelessness as well. I invited her to Ohio actually to regroup but two days before she was to arrive she mentioned her boyfriend She would be bringing He had an extensive criminal record in Indiana and was also on probation parole actually. I didn't feel comfortable with someone I didn't know in my home. With a record of several assaults against women and a police officer no less? Yeah I was not comfortable with this and it kind of may have earned our friendship. Her dog was about 20 years old then. He died shortly after on account of all that upheaval in his age. She went to a rehabilitation her ex husband paid out of pocket for and is doing very well now but it was really just just such a sad story that she couldn't even take her dog and only a few years earlier was a very successful affluent respected name with a McMansion suburbs of Nashville. Her homeowners association probably cost nearly much I'll pay for rent in Cleveland. She said the hardest most painful part of losing her home with the pets that were divided in her divorce and then thinned by scythe off the grim reaper.

Anytime somebody has to start by saying they're a "good Christian, but" is not a good or Godly person! The apartments he owns rent out for more than they are worth btw!! He kicked up the prices just like every other greedy a-hole did.

Well the gov did just say that they couldn't evict anyone for THREE YEARS. they didn't stop taxing the owners on that property during that time. they decided that their house only had tax value to the gov and they had no right to compensation for their house. If i was a landlord back then I'd sell all my property to Ryan homes (who are absolute garbage) then listen to the complaints that there's nothing affordable to rent. Obviously not, you robbed the people who could have helped and not they're done with you.

Prices for everything went up so of course housing prices are going to go up, especially when so many lost so much from renters not paying and not being able to kick them out
