I have some strawberry crowns in my NFT system - supported them with cotton balls that stay moist. Hoping that will help them survive lack of water if it ever happens. Def buying battery backup for pump after seeing that strawberry plant in this video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

I just started 4 from seeds. The leafs are tiny. Like pin head small and has split off. Is that normal?

Yep! Mind we’re tiny for about a month.

Can you do this in the winter? How can you have the berries taste sweet?

Yep! I’m growing them right now. My basement is temperature controlled, use artificial lights and hand pollinate the flowers. They taste sweet to me and the kids. Much sweeter than store bought. The amount of sugar a berry has is proportional to the nutrients in the soil. Since I feed them everything they need in the water then the berry is sweet.

Yea, I had much to learn. I get berries all the time now. The kids love them.
