As a long haired girly, my only tip is: don't think too much about your hair. The more u think about it, the longer it feels like it's taking to grow. When I stopped being obsessive about growing it fast boom, it grew like a vine

I second this! After I watched her original hair care journey I obsessed over mine for almost 2 years. It really bummed me that it took so long to grow. Yesss... I stopped watching Blowout Professor because I disagree with a lot of what he says. He still somewhat promotes 'hair training' and rarely gives drugstore products a fair chance. Plus, he often makes videos while selling expensive products through his links, which I get, since he owns a salon. I’d recommend Abbey Yung, Kayli Boyle, and Audrey Victoria instead. They offer more realistic haircare tips, backed by science, not just personal experience, and they recommend great drugstore products. Kayli Boyle also recently posted a video with tips on growing waist-length hair.

I'm struggling myself to get to the length I've always wanted to achieve. It's not that my hair doesn't grow, it grows normally, it's that by the time I get to a length I like, my ends are so thin and stringy that I have to cut it back to where it was. I was religiously using leave in conditioner and oil on my hair after every wash, and my ends were breaking so fast. I recently went to a new hairdresser and she said that oil can actually dry your ends and they break faster. Even she herself uses it once a week. I’m so frustrated and tired with my hair. It’s also dry and frizzy, like yours. Love watching your hair videos, they keep me going on this never ending journey ❤

According to Abbey Yung and in my experience when hair needs clarifying - it can also look dry from all the buildup. After clarifying my hair is always softer, but mine is wavy and I use a lot of products. :) and please use sulfates and silicones - I promise this is what you need for healthy scalp and strong lengths. I’m following all of Abbey’s advice and my hair is thick and ends are exceptional since I use silicones and daily oiling and strong scalp focused shampoos. Drugstore brands are completely fine, no need to break the bank. I don’t use “natural” haircare anymore as I see how much better regular products are. From hair oils too just use regular brands that contain silicone, if you use sulfate shampoo that washes out silicones - no need to be scared. Hope this helps.

Hi Isabella! I'm sure you've had tons of recommendations lately about what to try but this is what I've found transformed my hair. When I was oiling my scalp and using hairmasks too regularly by hair just seemed to be getting more and more damaged. Therefore, I simplified my routine and it has been so much better since. Here's what I do: -Apply a cheap-silicone based oil to your very ends (not too close to the scalp) to protect them when shampooing e.g OXG Argan oil -Use a clarifying shampoo each time you shower (it's best to remove all the build up from your products) e.g Ouai Detox, Pantene Volume & Body (Basically a clear shampoo) -Use a lamellar water (GAME CHANGER) wash out after 10 seconds, scrunch it into ringed out hair -NOW AND THEN: Repairing mask when your hair feels like it needs it or more heat than normal. e.g Olaplex 3, K18, Redken acidic bond, etc -Condition using light oils. I also have found Shea, Castor and Coconut destroy my hair. e.g Olaplex 5 Condtioner -ALWAYS: Brush through your conditioning products with a tangle teezer-like brush whilst in the shower. Makes such a difference -Use a light leave in spray. e.g ColourWOW Dream coat, John Frieda Frizz Ease 3-Day Straight -Let hair air dry for a little before using heat, I wait around 30 mins -Dry your hair! My hair has personally transformed since using the GHD Duet styler that I got for my 21st B-Day, gotta try it girl! -Then add an oil to your ends DONE! My hair is in the best state it has ever been in. I hope you try some of this and find it as helpful as I did x

My hair is getting longer- if you have fragile ends- my top tip is protect your ends. Use protective hair styles. Don't wear your hair down every day- braid it or put it up in a bun. Keep the ends tucked away. Do this consistantly.every day. That is the secret. I put a little bit of leave in conditioner and a little bit of hair old only on the ends. But protective hairstyles and wearing a satin bonnet at night. I sometimes wear the bonnet around the house when no one is around. This reduces the friction and mechanical damage to hair and the ends.

For ages, I had a VERY difficult time finding products that work for my hair, similar to the experience you're sharing throughout this video. The problem is, I was watching hair influencers and really believing that the exact same product they use should give me the exact same results it gave them. But realistically, that's just NEVER going to happen. My biggest and probably best advice to you, is to find out your EXTENSIVE hair type. That includes your hair's: 1. Texture (e.g. type 2b) 2. Porosity (e.g. high porosity) 3. Density (e.g. fine) 4. Condition (e.g. dry) 5. Length (e.g. short) 6. Protein sensitivity 7. Other factors like whether you get dandruff easily, whether your scalp is sensitive, how you usually style your hair (do you mostly air dry? Do you use heat and need a heat protector?) Once you've studied and understood *YOUR* hair as best as you can, you will have a much much easier time finding the right products for your hair. You can even plug all the factors listed above into ChatGPT, and ask it specific questions like "what's the best *[shampoo]* I can buy in *[London, England]* for *[type 2b, high porosity, fine, short, dry]* hair that is *[protein sensitive]*" (the square brackets represent the factors which you should tailor to YOUR hair type). Hope that helps somebody!!

My hair is also fine and it just hates everything with protein in it, my hair just wants moisture. To be honest, my hair flourishes with anything that has ton of silicone in it. I tried the no silicone/no harsh sulfates/only natural oils for the ends of my hair route for several years. My hair just loves moisturizing stuff with ton of silicones, especially Pantene and Tresemme. Even though a lot of us has been taught that silicones are bad, you could try using stuff with silicones if what you are doing currently is not working for your hair.

Regarding olive oil and coconut oil : look up the difference between sealant oil and penetrating oil. Basically some oils have bigger molecules and won't penetrate the hair and some do, but depending on your hair type you want to focus more on penetrating oil or "sealant oil" that is oils that sit on top of your hair but protect your hair from damage. Some oils are also just too heavy as you mentioned, for my fine thin hair any product with coconut or olive oil will make my hair dry and lumpy and pure oil is even worse... they're also highly comedogenic so I'd have more acne especially on the forehead and back. I only use sweet almond oil now, it's the only one I can put on my ends everyday (lightly) without making my hair heavy.

I follow you since you started your dry hair journey because I had the same problem for years. Alongside you I started following other people who had dry hair like Starpuppy or Katherine Sewing and Katherine’s routine was one of the best for my hair (tho I’ll say that oils got a bit out of control with my scalp and ends so I stopped). Her best advice for my hair was to stop using most brushes and combs and instead finger detangle . It takes more time to detangle that way but I do it at the end of the day with my fingers and a boar bristle brush after, put my hair in a loose pineapple bun with a bonnet and the next day my hair is ready to go. Doing this reduces the damage that your hair receives from breakage, the sound you hear when you brush with normal tools IS breakage happening in the moment. I believe hair products are a lot trickier to get right and you only find out what works by try and error. Still I found a shampoo and conditioner with softer ingredients that works fine. Another thing is styling, I mostly just try to keep my hair out of the way with claw clips but if you constantly manage/style your hair it will also lead to breakage.

8:16 chatGBT says,” Product Buildup: If you’re using too much oil or not properly washing it out, it can accumulate and leave your hair looking greasy or dull. 2. Incorrect Oil Type: Some oils, like heavy mineral oils, can sit on top of the hair without penetrating, leading to a weighed-down appearance. Lighter oils such as argan or jojoba might work better for finer hair. 3. Moisture Imbalance: Oiling adds lipids, but if your hair lacks moisture, the oil alone won’t hydrate it. You may need to add more water-based hydration (like leave-in conditioners or hydrating masks) before sealing with oil. 4. Heat Damage: If your hair is heat-damaged, oiling may not be enough to repair the dryness, and deep conditioning treatments could help restore moisture.

My hair is mostly like yours, for years I could never use conditioner. After I bleach my hair, it got even worse, so my mom asked a hair lady she knows for advice... long story short I´ve been using Angel En Provence products for over 2 years now and will never go back. I use their Activating Shampoo with Rosemary oil and their conditioner for dry hair. I final have long hair on the bottom that doesn´t spit and more hair over all.

if you feel that something like shea moisture is too heavy for your hair, you may like Elvive Hyaluron Plump hair mask. I was using that for a while but I discovered that my hair gets along better with creamier and thicker masks when the Elvive one was much more light weight. It's also specific for dry hair

I have dry bleached hair with natural waves. Just thought I’d share my hair care routine in case it helps you! As my hair type is the same as yours if I try and have my hair straight, plus it’s quite easy and straight forward - Garnier ultimate blends almond milk shampoo and conditioner Lush ‘curl power’ cream. It has protein in it and my hair LOVES it ✨ I also use Superdrug’s own coconut clarifying shampoo, seems to really help with build up 🩷

I personally use pantene miracle serum intensive repair as conditioner, hair mask, and leave in (depends on the day/what my hair needs) and its been working really well (a little heavier as leave in but as mask and conditioner, really light). The price is nice, plus I like the simplicity of having one product (good for traveling around ;). This is the first conditioner in years that I have purchased and repurchased multiple times.

Aloe vera and glycerin are great ingredients to look for for dry thin hair. I been using garnier hydrating aloe hair treatment 3 in 1 mask currently. When choosing rinse out prodects for this hair type make sure hydrating ingredients, like these two, come before oils or silicones in list.

I have also tried so many different hair products, and I have to say that one of my biggest tips is to use jojoba oil. It is the oil most similar to the body’s natural oil, so it is extremely moisturizing and great for your hair. I use it as an oil mask once a week and also after washing. There is also a brand called Hair Biology made for aging hair, and since grey hair is usually more coarse/dry, I find that makes my hair very soft and shiny. I hope this helps!!

You can look into the giovanni hair care shampoos and conditioners. Also if you're going to oil your hair spray some water on the ends first., jojoba oil should be light enough since it matches the natural oils from the scalp but also perhaps mix with castor oil to really seal in moisture. Also im not sure if you mentioned it, but do you use heat protector serum? If your hair is drying out at the ends you probably need a protein treatment: aphogee 2min reconstructor. Overall i HIGHLY recommend the GreenBeauty channel for information even though its mainly for black natural hair. The tips she gives can perhaps work for you

I have your exact hair type (mine is a bit thinner tho) I would NOT recommend to use heavy oil masks all over your hair as it wears the hair hair down and makes it greasy faster. I also had a similar experience with hair oil but maybe it’s bc my ends were dyed a year ago and are only slowly going back to their og dirty blonde. Whatever I do the hair oil doesn’t really seem to sink into my ends.

Ive been watching your content for a while but never left a comment. Your hair is very similar to mine and yes, most certainly, there is a thing as a dry hair type. I struggled a lot with my hair in high school and not so much now. What helped me was mostly only washing it once a week. It took a while for my hair to get used to it so it may be hard... but it will eventually stop getting oily after three days. My hair is thin and I think so is yours. Our hair is prone to splitting and it is the most fragile when it's wet. I use a leave-in conditioner every time I wash my hair. My hair now is not as frizzy as it used to be. I can leave it to air dry normally and it looks all right. I also stopped brushing it... this has helped me the most. I only brush it with my detangling brush once I have the conditioner in my hair. The only part of my hair I brush is my scalp. This might sound weird but I this has helped me tremendously. My hair stopped splitting once I stopped brushing it. I told my twin brother to do the same. His hair is naturally straight so its slightly less dry but its also thin and prone to damage and his hair has grown out a lot- its up to his shoulders now. He doesn't do anything special with it besides that. And one more thing. I never use heat on it. Havent used any for over 12 years but I only used it like 3 times a year before so it wasnt the deal breaker. This is just what I do and what has helped me personally. I am not telling you to do anything you dont want to or that I have found a fix to your problem. I know how it feels to struggle with your hair and I just hope this might help a little bit. If you are willing to try so many other things, maybe youll try that at some point. I wish you good luck ^^

Your hair benefits from conditioners and oils with silicones. This will create a protective layer around the hairs, which protects the hairs from friction (such as rubbing against your clothes) and drying out. It also gives shine to the ends. Of course, it is important to continue to nourish with masks and use mild shampoo, but don't be afraid of silicones.

My best tip would definetely be to re-condition your hair slightly between washes, also I use a cyclopentasiloxane based oil which has amazinggg lubrication while being lightweight

Love your hair videos! As a girl with exactly the same hair type as you I 100% share your frustrations, hair is definitely so much about genetics rather than products. I'm trying to grow my hair too and recently switched my shampoo to Nizoral (yes for dandruff), I don't have dandruff but read the active ingredient- ketoconazole has been shown to increase hair growth (leave it on for 3-5 mins). Surprisingly I also really like how it cleans my hair, feels clean but not stripped/ squeaky clean which exacerbates my dry hair. Something I also think about a lot is how nice my hair feels after I get caught in a rain storm! It dries smooth and frizz is no where to be seen, maybe I should start collecting water 😂 Following along on your hair journey xxx

You know what really helped my journey from the crazy dry, learning how to formulate my own products, and excluding the chemicals that aren't compatible with me, I do not exclude based on the mainstream hype with natural and all that bla bla bla, I actually test for sensitivity and use a Saftey Data Sheet that lists the reactions to watch out for. Its funny you mention the Moroccan hair oil. I make my own version, scented with an essential oil blend similar to Victoria secret's love spell lol I could not live without that stuff and I make it for a fraction of the price :p This is not a hobby for the faint of heart though. All the sterilizing, clean room, good manufacturing practices is enough to make your head spin. Then learning how to use the chemicals safely is another story. And now since I learned so much about the chemicals used to make products, and what is more compatible with my hair, I can make more educated purchases on brands that will help me. There aren't a lot out there in my case.

I think our hair might be similar based on your videos, and my favourite deep conditioner/mask has been the Bumble and Bumble Bb. Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Mask (there is a rich one and a "plain" one that is more white, the second one is what I have been using). It has silicones in it, which I figured works well for my hair - much better then products containing shea butter which is esentially almost all curly hair products. I know it is not the cheepest products, but a little goes a long way, I purchased mine around march and I am only half way through it.

I have very dry similar hair and I do try to take care of it but it's fragile and breaks even with a silk hair tie if I put it up, I like the Moroccan oil deep conditioner and use a leave in and light oil after, my hair feels great, if it looks good that's down to luck! I leave it wavy 😊

I’ve always heard oil blocks conditioner and moisturizing products from being able to penetrate the hair. So I use it for my scalp and for finishing my hairstyle!

ceramic brushes are key for frizz free and bouncy hair. My hair is similar to yours and no product gives me better (and especially long lasting) results than blow drying with a ceramic brush once the hair is 80% dry. It could be a round or a paddle brush, as long as it has ceramic and ionic technology.

I have similar hair as you, on the dry side, coarse and blonde-red,just a little thicker and straighter. Oils make it feel kind of weird. For me everything with arganoil helps. Bamboo is also really good to make my hair more sleek without silicones or weighing it down (best together with glycerin as second ingredient) . It's mostly in volumizing products. For silicones the Monday hair care conditioner for smoothing worked really well for me as well. It contains amodimethicone as the only silicone.

Use Elvive serum/ jojoba oil / Calia natural leave in conditioner for your ends. My theory is for more hair growth and less hair loss focus on scalp and you already do that. But, for thicker hair length and less breakage focus on the ends of your hair.
@ikylm2121Ай бұрын
For deep conditioner, instead of using a separate mask try just using your usual conditioner. Leave it on for a few extra minutes then rinse out. I think most conditioning masks are very thick, but standard conditioners are lighter weight - and you don’t need an extra product!

You seem to have the same struggle with the products and oiling as me and I think the main culprit is our hair porosity. I think we have low porosity and these heavy products create this icky film on the hairs. I started using the L'Oréal Elseve bond repair stuff and my hair seems to be ok with it. Good luck on your hair growth process!
