i have some tips : •use a glass nail file !!!!!NEVER USE CLIPPERS !!!!!!!!!!!glass files dont leave jaged edges like an average emory board and also don’t saw back and forth when filing !! •oil your nails with JOJOBA OIL every morning and night and more often if they are still dry DO NOT use nail hardener !!!!! the oil will make your nails more flexible if they are harder they will break off but if you oil them regularly they will bend but not break or split. you can buy jojoba oil on amazon it’s not expensive. you can put it in a pen for handy or just in the bottle •i prefer a squoval (square but rounded shape )it stops your nails snagging in things like jumpers •painting your nails is not going to effect the health of your nails !! it actually gives it an extra layer of protection. yellow nails mean nothing about your nail health it just means they’re stained from the colour. •never ever buff your nails. it’s just getting rid of layers that your need to make your nails strong !!! it is completely unessecary •if you have the patience use an acetone free nail polish remover personally i just don’t have the patience and i use 100% acetone but this is very drying to the nails and i wouldn’t recommend doing this •be careful after being in water!! and also make sure to wear fives when washing up , cleaning etc..... hope if u see this you find it helpful (i’m not an professional but i have been into nails since i was 8 and have done a lot of research and tried a lot of diffrent things) GOOD LUCK ! xx😊😊

The way I got my thin, short nails to stop breaking was by using a thick layer of base coat on the nail, with a thick layer of nail strengthener, I made sure to get the sides and tops of my nails. Rubbing coconut oil on them whenever I take my polish off! A fancy design that took you long to complete works well too, because if you’re a nail biter (like me 😂) you won’t be as tempted to bite the nails, because of all the work you put into the design! ❤

About maybe 6 months ago I grew out my nails and I was getting a lot of compliments, and then half of my nails starting chipping on me and I really didn’t want to cut them back at the same length but I started getting stressed over other personal things like School work so I cut them down to the smile line and I felt relieved and stop starting at my nails every second but I still wear nail polish every day still which I have no problems with. I prefer my nails average length but I would continue cutting them if they were damaged like that, and start the growth after the splits get clipped off. Thank you for these re-growing videos. I have problem nails on the best of days, but I also have damage from drugstore gel polish I'm growing out, and I'm in that phase where they'll grow some, look good for, like, a day; then one will break at a damaged spot, and I have to file them all back. Again. I'm hoping that in a few weeks all that rough stuff will be gone, and I can have a fresh canvas. Luckily, I found a polish brand that--fingers crossed--doesn't damage my nails. It's free from several harsh ingredients, so I'm looking forward to being able to polish safely soon.

There a loads of nail serums you can find for purchase and can use in order to repair your damaged/thin/chapped nails. Also using moisturizing hand creams that are enriched with vitamins (like vit E) and massaging your nails too can help them. I am doing my nails with shellac and after I am removing it, I am leaving my nails in a repairing period about 1-2 weeks. 🎉 I have a friend with thin nails that are not able to grow too long before chapping. She started using a nail vitamin b5 serum consistenly and her nails are slowly getting stronger!

I spent *hours* elbow deep in dish water (didn't wear those glove things because I always managed to get a buckets worth of water in those things somehow, thus rendering them pointless). Now that I'm out of the food industry, I can definitely see a massive difference in my nails, and for the better. Just a tip: natural square nails are super hard to maintain. The corners always seem to snap off. In my experience I have found that doing a round shape, oval shape, or an almond shape really helps because it seems like if you bump against something your nail just glides by. Also, I put on a nail strengthener if my nails are weak or just in general. It seems like if I have nail polish on it makes them more durable.

So if you or anyone else want tips, i've got natural nail that look kind of like fake nails. I constantly get asked if they're real and yeah. They're hard and only break if I hit them hard, then obviously they break off but they don't chip easily. They're naturally really white and healthy looking, never dry, always smooth (I have OCD, can't stand my nails not being 100 % smooth). My best tips? 1. I file them into the shape I want (i like them point since it makes my fingers look more slender and I feel like a cat) once a few weeks. I file really carefully and make the shape with the rought side and then buff them out. I always "test" run them against a fabric, if the nail get's stuck in fabric it's not smooth enough. I also buff the upside of the nail until it's shiny. 2. I use a kind of clear light pink nail polish and a top coat. If you don't want you natural nails to get yellow, this is recommended. The basically look like french manicure but natural. 3. That's it. I leave them like that. If the chip for some reason, i file them smooth again. I put on a new coat of nail polish when needed. I never bite my nails. I eat healthy and drick a lot of water. I love my nails, don't feel the same without them xd
@nennejoh4 жыл бұрын
Also the oval shape is much better (or pointy) for not chipping, square chips so easily. 4:13 that's looking amazing, just file the edges and buff them a bit. :)

I know this is a late comment, but if you keep your nails more round (almond), there won’t be no corners for your nails to get caught on things with therefore making your nails less prone to chipping, also cuticle oil! Oils such as coconut, almond, jojoba, olive, castor, Argan and so much more are so good for your nails and the skin around them.

The reason your nails MIGHT be chipping/cracking is because they are too thick. You might not want to use a strengthening nail polish because if they are too strong, they are more likely to chip. If your nails are thinner, they will bend instead of chip. BUT don't buff your nails unless you know you need to. To test, press on the tip of your nail and if it doesn't bend, you just feel pressure, they're too thick.

I think square shaped nails chip easier than almond shaped nails I have very thin nails and they chip very easily, but recently I tried cutting and filing them into an almond shape and they're doing pretty well, despite being long

Go get yourself a nail oil or make one yourself out of jojoba oil (get the purest form). It’s pretty easy to find (on amazon and in stores) and if you don’t like the watery consistency, just add vitamin E oil. You can see what I mean in simplynailogical’s how to grow your nails video Hope this helps 💕💖

I bite my nails but even if I didn’t my nail bed is so small and my nails are so short and thin and weak you can bend them. They flake, they crack, my cuticles are a mess. I’m jealous even of your “damaged” nails, I wish mine could be at least that nice😢

Im on my nail growing journey (again) too, my nails were super long and 4 of them broke, pretty far down too, i kept them hanging on with nail glue for awhile and then decided to just go ahead and cut them in February. They also use to chip and break a lot. My nails are the same length as yours now, but i keep mine in a rounded square shape, and the top halves(to the tips) are a little bit yellow still from all the nail polish i was wearing in the beginning of the year. But overall my nails seem to be pretty healthy now 🤗
