I think the dark green against the variegated leaves causes the color to pop and add dimensions and interest to the plant; watching the plant react to change of seasons is also fun and lively- it’s vigor and how alive it is!

Can I just say that I personally absolutely LOVE the way the variegation is so… varied?! Omg that is a GORGEOUS PLANT!! I’m soOo digging how there’s crazy variegation, then not so much and there’s some darker green, then more variegation again. Noiiice!! 😮🎉❤

Thanks for this! I got my paraiso verde in november for five euros (yes, you read that right). The woman who sold it to me said it was reverted and I honestly didn't know what that meant or how exciting I should have been to own a paraiso verde. I asked reddit and they said that they don't revert, and they were so right! In spring, it pushed out beautiful variegated leaves. I have now chopped it to pieces and am propagating three cutting since the mother plant isn't very pretty, and I'm so excited to pot them up and watch them grow! Edit: YES it's so gangly! That's a big part of the reason I chopped mine up, the space between the petioles was starting to become so big! We're talking 15 centimeters! Ridiculous. Someone on reddit told me to put it on the floor so that the light hits the upper part of the plant to see if that makes it less long, so I'm going to try that.

I'm glad you made this. I need to stay away from climbing philodendron in general. I have limited space and if it doesn't fit in my bedroom under the grow lights then it has to be able to survive outside during intensely hot, dry Arizona summers.

Ph paraiso verde is a fast happy grower. I've got mine like 3 months ago and it already maked 3 new leafs and i gived it a mosspole 5 days ago and the roots are already going crazy 😂🎉

Just ordered one of these on Etsy and it’s a starter plant and I’m hyped. I like plants that grow quick and have big leaves like monsteras otherwise I get bored when they grow too slow lol. Thanks! You gave a lot of good information! It has a lot of variegation and it was because I had it in a warm bright place. I wonder what will happen as we head into the fall? The stem of the plant was thin when I got it. It has gotten thicker as it has grown,. I am thinking about cutting it.

This plant is so gorgeous! I refrain myself of buying one because it becomes too big for my environment 😅 You can cut 1/3 of the roota instead of reporting, it works very well!

I'm having second thoughts on the Paraiso now. I'll have leaves the colour of collard greens here in Scotland so I may go for the Jose Buono! You'll have to find a way to speed up summer growth, maybe cut it again? :)

Jose Buono are easier in my opinion. The internodal spacing is also a lot tighter. Had I known any of that in beginning, you’d be looking at my very big Jose and not the Paraiso Verde! 😅
